If there is one faulty injector in commonrail diesel which leaks it lowers the pressure in commonrail tube.
When leakage gets bad it causes your motor not to start in subzero conditions.
This is an easy way to check the condition of your injectors.
For starters you should get as many transparent cans as your motor has cylinders.
Secondly you have to get some plastic tubing that fits on to your injectors return line tube.
Now it is time to get in business.
First you have to remove those original fuel tubes attached to injectors return line.
Next you put those new lines in place as shown in video.
There are two return connections in each injector except the first one.
This is 5 cylinder Volvo D5 so I needed 9 tubes to do this.
Make holes to the lids and put those tubes in the can.
Now you have one can per injector so you can monitor the leakage.
Just start start up your motor...
and see what happens.
In this case the culprit is obvious.
Number one cylinder leaks like hell.
This particular engine did not start if it was colder than -7C (19F) or sometimes -5C
After repair it started normally. Below -30C (-22F)
