hi I’m Towhid Rahman this is how to get the percentile rank for group data so let’s

say we have a number of scores on the test let’s

say they are two three three we’ll keep it very simple five seven and nine and eleven

okay so now we want to see what the percentile rank of a student who scored five was so we

can do that very easily by remembering a formula percentile rank equals 100 times the AI which

is the rank just counting this way in order from least to greatest minus 0.5 and all that

divided by the number of operations so N or a number of numbers okay so if we want the

percentile ranking of this five we count this way what place what rank it holds in the order

from least to greatest so one two three four and we plug that in for I so P equals 100

times four minus 0.5 and then we put n which is the total number of numbers one two three

four five six seven and then we solve that out so here we have P equals 100 times 3.5

divided by 7 which equals 350 divided by 7 which equals 50 so now we know that the percentile

rank of somebody who scored five and out of all these students his percentile rank is

50% that means 50 percent of the students scored below him and he’s and fifty percent

of the students scored above him so I am Towhid Raman and this is how to get the percentile

from group data.
