oh hi guys welcome back to my channel

this is meeting with teacher in France

if we're you to my channel welcome so in

today's video everyone would like to ask

this question have you ever been

confused about the difference between

use to and be used to if so this video

is for you guys so now are you ready are

you ready are you ready yes you are so

yes guys the first thing that I'm going

to talk about is about used to I'm going

to explain when to use it the structure

and some examples ok now what do we use

used to used to

we as this one when we talk about a

habit in the past or effect in the past

but not anymore at present so when you

say a habit in the past that means to

say that you regularly did certain thing

a certain thing in the past but at

present you don't do it anymore

that's when we use use do alright

for example I used to teach Koreans when

I was in Philippines this missus a

that's a fact that I taught Koreans when

I was in Philippines did you get it so

we use youth to when you talk about a

fact in the past but not now anymore

another example I used to teach online

four times a week before I came here in

France

but now I teach online two times a week

so in this example this actually

expresses something that I did in the

past regularly but not now anymore in

other words I have it in the past but

not at present any longer do you want to

now let's talk about the structure so

always remember everyone when you use

use - which means a habit in the past or

a fact in the past but not a present

anymore we are going to use this

structure you have to use the subject

used to which is a task form the verb

use should always have D so it's always

in the past form subject used to and is

followed by the base borne fruit so I'm

used to teach online four times a week

that means to say I did that regularly

in the past but not at present anymore

okay or another example I used to live

in Philippines before I moved to France

so that means to say it was a fact that

I lived in Philippines before I moved

here in France on the other hand

everyone being used to be when you say B

that means to say the be verbs am is are

used to what's the meaning or when do we

use this phrase be used to now we use be

used to when you talk about a habit now

let me say if you are accustomed to

something you can actually express be

used to instead of saying I'm accustomed

to

can say I am used to for example Shawn

amen is used to watching my videos or

another example funny though is used to

learning English with me so that means

to say it's a wedding a habit of them

you see a habit now

alright it's a habit now that means they

are accustomed to doing those things you

get one of me in other words they are

already familiar they are already

accustomed to or they already have the

habit of doing those things for example

I am used to teaching English it means

to say I have the habit I am accustomed

to or I am familiar with teaching

English alright now let's talk about the

structure or formulation we use be use

to with a noun or the verb ing SH is

what we call zr1 used to used is always

in the passport and followed by the verb

ing or a noun

alright or maybe you can also say I am

used to cafes pronunciation

that is enough so be used to we have to

use the noun form or the verb ing after

that we understand yes guys so for

example let's have a little bit of

another example you see for example what

am i drinking now

this is tea alright so for example in

this situation I always drink tea in the

morning so in this situation what are

you gonna say

are you gonna say Cathy use the drink

tea or Cathy is used to drinking tea

which is correct you have a timer of

course the correct answer is Cathy is

used to drinking tea every morning yes

because it's a habit everyone it's my

habit every morning to drink tea so I

should say I am used to drinking tea or

another example if I say shine a man

drinks coffee every morning what would

you say in that situation are you gonna

say shine amen use the drink coffee or

shine Amen is used to drinking coffee

which is right okay

of course the correct sentence is shine

Amen is used to drinking coffee because

we're talking about his habit of

drinking coffee every morning this is a

habit now and present all right so I

hope you guys are able to understand the

difference between be used to and used

to now let's have a little bit of a

recap if you say I am used to watching

Cathy's videos it means to say you

already have a habit of watching Cathy's

videos alright so you say I am used to

watching get these videos but for

example you watched cat this video very

often in the past you have to say I used

to watch

Kathie's videos in the past yes

everyone that's the difference between

the two I used to watch toughest videos

in the past I used to watch toughest

videos it means to say only in the past

but not now anymore

you did that regularly in the past but

not at present anymore I am used to

watching past videos it means to say you

already have that habit of watching

Cassie's videos I hope you guys are able

to understand this difference between be

used to and used to now always remember

the pattern alright so I hope you guys

are able to understand the difference

between the two and let's have a little

bit of exercise

are you ready everyone yes let's go I

would be giving you four sentences and

you need to write the correct answer
