Mercyhurst University officials are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving

situation around the new coronavirus. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to

remain calm and practice preventative health measures outlined in operation

curb COVID. Keep 'em clean, wash your hands often with soap and water for at

least 20 seconds- especially after you have been in a

public place or after blowing your nose coughing or sneezing. Be wise- sanitize. If

soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at

least 60% alcohol. Elect to Disinfect. Clean and disinfect frequently touch

services daily, including tables, doorknobs, light switches, desks, phones,

keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. Greet with your feet. Instead of shaking

hands when greeting others, tap feet or elbows instead. Saving face. Avoid

touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Give me some space. Avoid

close contact with people who are sick keeping at least 6 feet of distance if

possible. Ahhh-choose wisely. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you

cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow throw used tissues in the

trash and immediately washed your hands. Know when to call your doctor. Seek

medical attention if you have been in close contact with a person known to

have COVID-19 and develops symptoms including: fever, cough, shortness of

breath. Call ahead before going to your doctor. Stay informed, stay healthy.
