Emily Chan is a sophomore University of Oregon Education major from West Linn, Oregon. She hopes to become an elementary school teacher in the future because children bring her joy and she enjoys spending time with them. Since Fall Term 2017, Emily has worked as a conversation partner, in addition to working in classrooms to facilitate discussion and conversation. She enjoys reading, writing, art, and music. Emily has traveled to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Italy, France, Canada, Mexico, and several states in America. Emily likes any coffee or chocolate flavored ice cream, and has a favorite café in Eugene, called DIY: “AEI students should definitely go to DIY and try bubble tea, eat snacks, and enjoy a cute, warm hangout environment.”
