Our elders have

so much wisdom to offer

and we need to take advantage

of that while we still can.

My name is Ngcali Metu.

I'm 10 years old and I'm the author

of The Clever Twins.

I wrote The Clever Twins

in honour of my grandfather

who taught me

many valuable lessons.

When my grandfather passed away,

I felt really sad.

It was a shock to me.

It makes me sad that I couldn't learn

all that my grandfather

could teach me.

A lot of young people

don't take old people seriously.

But their lectures

only come from a place of love

and they want you to become

amazing people.

It was important to me

to share my grandfather's wisdom

because I just felt like he was

the most amazing grandfather

anyone could have asked for.

And I felt like all his wisdom

and all his stories

and all that he taught me

had to be shared

with the entire world.

I hope the advice he gave me

would be able to help other children

like it helped me.
