ACTION 7 NEWS REPORTER SASHA

LENNINGER HAS MORE ON WHAT'S

CAUSING THE DELAY.

SASHA: BOARDED UP WINDOWS, A RED

TAG, AND AN UNKEPT YARD.

THAT'S WHAT NEIGHBORS ARE WAKING

UP TO EVERY MORNING FOR THE PAST

YEAR AND A HALF.

THIS FRATERNITY HOUSE IS SET TO

BE DEMOLISHED, BUT LEGAL ISSUES

ARE TYING UP THE PROCESS.

ONCE ALL OF THOSE ISSUES ARE

WORKED OUT --

IT'S A MATTER OF GETTING THE

BIDS.

THE PEOPLE OWNING THE PROPERTY

WILL ACCEPT THE LOWEST BID, OR

WHICHEVER BID THEY FEEL

COMFORTABLE WITH.

AND FROM THERE ON, IT'S JUST THE

PROCESS OF GETTING THE

CONTRACTOR, THE PERMITS, AND

GETTING UTILITIES DISCONNECTED.

SASHA: BY FRIDAY, THE CITY SAYS

THEY'LL HAVE AN ANSWER AS TO

WHETHER OR NOT THEY CAN MOVE

FORWARD WITH THE DEMOLITION.

BUT IT MAY TAKE OVER A MONTH,

BECAUSE THE GAS AND ELECTRICAL

COMPANIES HAVE TO COME IN AND

MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS

DISCONNECTED PROPERLY.

WE WENT YESTERDAY AND FOUND

THAT ONE DOOR WAS BREACHED.

HOWEVER, WE NEED TO FACILITATE

THE SUBCONTRACTOR THAT WE USE TO

SECURE IT.

SASHA: BUT BEFORE THAT CAN

HAPPEN, APD WILL CLEAR THE

PROPERTY TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE

NO SQUATTERS.

ONE STEP CLOSER TO GETTTING THIS

NEIGHBORHOOD BACK TO NORMAL.
