By the end of this session, We will see how we have

neglected Quran as a pivotal pillar in our life;

To the extent that preachers spare no efforts to urge us to open

the Mus'haf (Quran) in Ramadan and not leave it after Ramadan.

We will realize the huge gap between the great goals of Qur'an and

other divine books and what we are actually doing in real life.

By the end of this session, by Allahs will, we will appreciate

the essence of the Quran in a totally different way,

We will discover that we have a very strong intension

to deal with this miraculous book in a different way.

We will develop a truly unique plan to make a

great leap - in our relationship with Quran -

that we would never imagine to reach due to our weakness.

Seeking help of the Almighty, we start with Bismillah (in the name of Allah:

A religious young man got on a micro-bus whose

driver was playing a loud music, the young

man handed over a Quranic cassette to him to

play it, but the driver gazed at him saying:

Pardon! Are we in a funeral? Such response does not come out of the blue.

It has been developed in the minds of many, throughout the long years.

Media always stereotypes Quran as only good for recitation in funeral marquees.

In movies or dramas, we see Quran is linked to funeral marquees where a

reciter (Sheikh) sits in a big chair reciting Quran in a specific mode.

This is a common practice in our daily life and

people use to set a platform in a tent for Shaikhs

(Quran reciters) to recite one or two parts of Hizb

in one, or more, of the ways of recitation (Riwayat)

A plain coffee is served (I dont know why plain) as ceremonial act

and people listen to one or two quarters of Hizb and then they leave.

Another funny act is the monotonous morning routine - named Al-Estibaha.

Some people open their eyes with wild desire to play Quran for half an

hour as a starter of a new day, in a Caf, at home or anywhere else.

Once done with Estibaha, as if he says:

Praise be to Allah now I can do any offense,

there is no harm to play music or watch offensive scenes,

at least Allah Has helped me to play the morning Estibaha.

If you asked him to play Surat Al Araf for instance,

you would receive the answer: hey man Estibaha is over

On the other side, you can see a different approach in dealing with the Quran.

People like to be religious and diligent in their

practices, and they get various types of guidance:

Such as: Okay put your trust in Allah and memorize Quran,

It is the only way to be closer to Allah (SWT).

Others promote How to memorize Quran in 30 days,

The perfect way to memorize 15 pages in 10 minutes.

Some preachers talk about another point: Be careful you

must have a daily Quran read at least one juz "part",

If you cant, then read Hizb, if you cant then one page

See, finally it is one half a page, or at least 5 verses every day.

There is a common perception before Ramadan when all sermons

intensively promote the message that the month of Quran is coming:

if you havent read Quran throughout the year, it is now your chance.

Once Ramadan arrives you can open the Mushaf and Allah will reward you.

On the 28th or 29th of Ramadan, you hear the

already-prepared sermon entitled: What after Ramadan?

You will notice preachers insistence urging people: God be upon

you, if you hold Quran in Ramadan, I beg you dont leave it.

We will find that Quranic centers are widely spread in Muslim countries,

Surprisingly, they are widely spread even in Anti-Islam countries.

many international Quran competitions are held in various countries;

Competitions in memorization abilities not only to verses but by verse

number, page numbers and verse location on the page - very high mastery.

Another perceptible funny way of handling Quran is that you can come across.

A gentle person holding a photo of a girl saying: Your sister Fatima

has memorized the entire Quran, nobody even says Bismillah MashaAllah!,

And you can hear the fans shouting Allahu Akbar, Bismillah MashaAllah

May Allah Bless you Fatima and Give us more people like you.

On another scenario, you can see someone pretty much playing the role of the

pious man by saying: Praise be to Allah, it is blessing I memorized Quran.

After this introduction he concludes by saying: God bless us with sincerity.

Really? How come you first announced your worship to the whole

world and then end up with God bless us with sincerity.

After all the above examples, Estibaha and Quran is running over in funeral marquees

and on the other side there is high effort

focused on Quran recitation and memorization,

but let us ask ourselves a very important question:

Where is Quran within all these dynamics that we see or hear .

Honestly, where is the essence of Quran in all the stories we heard?

One may argue what else you want other than reciting and

getting reward when a single recited letter is ten good deeds.

No. this is not the purpose of Quran. We need to ask

ourselves about the objectives for which Qur'an was revealed?

Once we know the reasons why Quran was revealed, then we can identify

what is right and what is wrong in all these examples we saw.

On a daily basis we read in Surah Al-Fatiha Show us the straightway tenth

of times, immediately a surprising answer is in Surat Al-Baqara, verse 2

This Surah, as we will see InshaAlla, demonstrates the features of the Islamic

method as The Almighty demands the submission of believers to this approach.

The answer directly comes in Verse No 2 which reads: (This Book

whereof there is no doubt, is a guidance unto the God-fearing.

Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and out of

that wherewith We have provided them expend, and who believe in

that which hath been sent down unto thee and that which hath been

sent down before thee and of the Hereafter they are convinced.

What does Guidance mean? Guidance (i.e. Huda in Arabic

language) has a very beautiful meaning; it means daytime.

The Quran makes everything clear. Likewise, in daytime you

see everything and find the way or where you need to go.

Quran is described as guidance, another beautiful meaning, which

means to find the path of truth and rightness in the light of Quran.

Qura'n helps you to walk on the path of truth with

insight, i.e. you know where to go and where not to;

whether you should walk in this way or not; join this group of people or not,

take this decision or otherwise. Precisely, this is the meaning of guidance,

Then look at the effect of guidance unto the

God-fearing with Quran. People start to believe

in the unseen, and establish prayer, and out

of that wherewith We have provided them expend

And people believe in that which hath been sent

down unto thee and that which hath been sent down

before thee and of the Hereafter they are

convinced all these qualities were absent before.

It is the Quran that instilled such qualities in people and guided them

to such qualities. Finally, Allah The Almighty concluded in verse No 5

And these they are the blissful ones the group

of people who will succeed and pass the test.

Allah The Almighty says in Surat Al-Baqara: We said:

"Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there

comes to your guidance from Me " whosoever follows My

guidance on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve

What on earth is the story?"

Adam and Eve banished from Paradise after they committed

the first sin of eating from the fruits of the tree,

they were sent down to earth not knowing what to do.

What is this Earth? they exclaimed. What are

these strange new feelings and this fatigue;

we have never felt such signs before in paradise. Now

what to do an where we go? The Almighty told them:

(there comes to you guidance from Me" whosoever follows My

guidance on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve).

The answer came to human being: I will clarify to you how to deal with everything,

you must follow the method and there shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Let us move to Surat Al-E-Imran, as we will see, Allah Guides the personality

of Quran receipts to be capable to accept the powerful Islamic method.

The Islamic method is powerful, and so the personality

of anyone who receives this method must change.

The Almighty guides us and entirely changes the Muslim personality,

in Surat Al-E-Imran, verse 23 Allah Says: In the Name of Allah:

Have you not seen those who have been given a portion

of the Scripture? They are being invited to the

Book of Allh that it may judge between them? then

a party of them turn away, and they are averse.

What does judge between them mean?

We cant deceive ourselves judge means decisive

command on which ruling system should control the state,

which economic system to follow and which one to evade, what makes

a good friend or foe? who we should or shouldnt fight against?

Islam (the Quran) is the cut-off point and rule in all matters;

On what basis marriage is concluded, and how-to behalf in case of divorce;

Islam or Quran is the cut-off point and rule in all these matters: what should

or shouldnt be broadcast on TV or be taught or not in our inviolable schools

In any issue or problem that face people, the judge is the Qur'an.

So, in Surat An-Nisa, a great Surat in social

legislations, verses 60-61, Allah The Almighty Says:

(Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they

believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that

which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for

judgement (in their disputes) to the Tght (false judges)

while they have been ordered to reject them. But

Shaitn (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray.

And when it is said to them: "Come to what Allh

has sent down and to the Messenger (Mohammad

SAW), " you (Mohammad SAW) see the hypocrites

turn away from you (Muhammad SAW) with aversion".

The revelation has goals: The first one is to guide people;

the second goal it is judgment among people;

another goal of the Holy Quran is to identify believer

from infidels, to distinguish believers from hypocrites.

Allah (SW) Says: (There are people who claim that they

believe in that which has been sent down to you (Muhammad SAW)

and that which was sent down before you, but in

reality (they wish to go for judgement to the Tght).

You may surprise that the verse concludes with (while they have been ordered to

reject false judges) after stating that they (go for judgement to the Tght)

as if going for judgement to the Tght is a sort of worship or faith in Tght).

But what is Tght? It is terminology denoting a focus of

worship other than God such as the Jinn and mankind or any idols

Can we worship mankind?

Yes. Anyone who enacts legislation other than of

the Almighty God or any law laid down by human

in contradiction with the word of The Almighty

and entirely different from Islamic Sharia.

If people adhere and follow such legislations, it means

that they worship the legislator instead of Allah (SW),

or Tght is a tyrannical earthly power, a very unjust, arrogant,

mighty man who denies the rights of people and oppresses them,

so, if you follow him due to fear of him and you are not afraid

of Allah The Almighty then you believe in this tyrannical power.

Tght is every caller to misguidance, every idol or obeyed

person instead of Allah. If the legislation we follow is

not the legislation of our Lord The Almighty, not the Islamic

legislation, then this very legislation is called Tght

Therefore, all Muslims must know these meanings which are more

important than the many stuff taught to our children in schools.

In the same surah, and in very beautiful harmony

with the main goal that we will see in this Surah,

Allah The Almighty says in verse no 174: (O mankind! Verily, there has

come to you a convincing proof (Prophet Muhammad SAW) from your Lord,

and We sent down to you a manifest light (this Qur'n).

The Quran is light and we live in darkness and

it is Quran gives you light. What does that mean?

Quran guides you to go this way or not; direct you to

the right path and warn you from taking the risky way.

We live in darkness and Quran is the source of

light to us, without it we would all be lost.

Then we move to Surah Al-Maeda, which focuses on

the covenants and charters with the Almighty Allah,

Many preachers and Shaikhs (scholars) tremble

from the verses of The Almighty Who Says:

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful:

(Verily We sent down the Taurat wherein was a guidance and a light.

By it the prophets who submitted themselves judged those who were judaised,

and so did the divines and the priests by that wherewith they were

entrusted of the Book of Allah and they had become witnesses thereof.

Wherefore fear not the mankind but fear Me, and

barter not My revelations for a small price,

and whosoever judgeth not by that which Allah hath

sent down - those then they are the infidels).

(And We prescribed unto them therein: a life

for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a

nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and

a tooth for a tooth, and wounds in reprisal,

then whosoever forgoeth it, then it shall be for him an expiation. And whosoever

judgeth not by that which Allah hath sent

down - those then! they are the wrong-doers).

(And in their footsteps We caused Isa, son of Maryam, to

follow, confessing to that which had preceded him, the Taurat,

and We vouchsafed unto him the Injil wherein

was a guidance and a light, confirming that

which had preceded it, the Taurat, and a

guidance and an admonition unto the God-fearing).

(And let the people of the Injil judge by that which Allah hath sent down

therein; and whosoever judgeth not by that which Allah hath sent down, then those!

they are the transgressors).

(And We have sent down the Book unto thee with truth;

and confirming that which hath preceded it of the Book,

and a guardian thereof. Wherefrom judge thou between them

by that which Allah hath sent down, and follow thou not

away from that which hath their desires come to thee of

the truth. Unto each of you We appointed law and a way.

If Allh had willed, He would have made you one nation, but

that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so compete

in good deeds. The return of you (all) is to Allh; then

He will inform you about that in which you used to differ

And judge thou between them by that which Allah hath

sent down, and follow thou not their desires, and

beware thou of them lest they tempt thee away from

any part of that which Allah hath sent down unto thee.

Then if they turn away, then know thou that Allah only intendeth to afflict

them for some of their sins. And verily many of the mankind are transgressors

Seek they then the judgement of Paganism? And who is better

than Allah in judgement unto a people who are convinced?)

These verses need no comment. They clearly indicate whoever accepts or denies to rule

according the judgment of our Lord are unbelievers, transgressors and flagitious.

The remark came to the prophet that Allah Has sent down this Quran

to you as custodian and witness of trustworthy over other books,

so, beware of them lest they tempt you away from

any part of that which Allah Has sent down to you

This final comment (verily many of the mankind are flagitious) is very serious

indicating that many people will remain transgressors

and reject the rule of Allah (SW). What a clear message?

In the same context, Surah Al Anaam, verse 114 reads:

(Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when He it is Who hath

revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto

whom We gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from

thy Lord in truth. So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers).

How do I look for someone to rule me? Is any judgement other that the

judgement of Allah (SW) He Who revealed a fully explained Scripture?

If you contemplate on the dazzling miracles of the

Holy Quran, you will think how come I seek to be

judged by a rule other than that of Allah the

Almighty He Who revealed (this) miraculous Scripture.

Isn't this the very Quran that people strive vigorously to memorize?

It is the very Quran that people read day and night, Isn't it?

Nobody ever ponders on the meanings of these

verses, and the goals intended by Allah

The Almighty And what is the difference

between these goals and reality on the ground.

Then what happened? What's wrong with the way we handled Quran?

This issue has many dimensions relating to political

agenda, media and human nature. But then in this context,

it is likely to mention some very important aspects.

The first shocking reality is dictating a model

of Islam which is permissible for dissemination.

In other words, Quran must be promoted as a nice book, a scripture

of blessing and it is good only in burial and funeral rites.

In fact, as we explained before in the introductory

video, the Quran and the way we deal with

it is a clear example for the impact of the

fragmented Islam that is introduced to the people.

preachers speak a lot the virtue of Quran (a letter is ten good

deeds) and that it is a very beautiful book; you must keep reading it;

and that Ramadan is the month of the Quran and never abandon it after Ramadan,

all this, without referring to the goals of the Quran, will only

indicate that this Quran remains a blessing book to put in the car.

Some may volunteer to say: Oh, how come you drive with no

Mushaf in your car, dont you know what could happen you?

More of that, we may bring the Quran and place it

carefully in the house, move it slowly to the left,

then to the right then a bit to the left it

is fine, now it is in a very good position.

Or else, we can play the Estibaha, or we bring a reciter to

listen to one or two quarters of the Quran during a funeral rite.

Have you realized the effect of delivering just part

of the Qurans meanings of goals to the people?

Also, we see that the Quran is widely used in contests. Imagine, a

scripture that was sent down to humanity, we only use it for competitions.

Indeed, it is shameful that we have reached this level in dealing

with the Holy Quran and it is normal to organize contests.

The state openly combats Islam but can urge people:

Do you want to organize competitions for Quran?

Go ahead, invite audiences from all over the world, we want you to come here;

please inform people that one letter equals ten good deeds, they

badly need rewards. But dont tell me about the rule of Islam,

we only need it for prestige and blessing (Baraka).

The first thing respected brothers is that we must keep in mind is that Quran is

permissible worldwide for dealing in a certain

framework, otherwise it is not allowed.

The second point is that we may put ourselves in harm's way when

we deal with Quran as a book of reading, blessing, memorizing and

to be preserved, we see no fault in knowing everything about it

except its meanings but in this way we put ourselves in harm's way.

In Sahih Muslim, Ali (may Allh be pleased with him) was

reported to have said, I heard the Prophet () saying:

There would appear from my Ummah a people who would recite

the Quran, and your recital would seem insignificant

as compared with their recital, your prayer as compared

to your prayer, and your fast, as compared to their fast.

They would recite the Quran thinking that it supports

them, whereas it is an evidence against them. Their prayer

does not get beyond their collar bones, they would swerve

through Islam just as the arrow passes through the prey.

Quran is not only about reading or memorizing, no doubt these performances

are important and great, and InshaAllah the doers will gain reward.

The question is that why are we required to read and memorize

a lot? In order to stick to this great book and adhere to it.

What is the use if we memorize and preserve it, but not apply

it? If we did not achieve its goals, if it is neither the judge

, nor our guidance though it leads us out of darkness

into the light, then we will be punished for that.

In Sahih Muslim, An-Nawwas bin Sam'an (May Allah be pleased

with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah () saying,

The Qur'an and its people who applied it, will

be brought on the Day of Resurrection preceded

with Surat Al-Baqarah and Surat Al-'Imran

arguing on behalf of those who applied them.

See, it is all about applying Quran in this world. How do we

read: "BE Behold! the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!

and we do wrong. How do we read verses about liars and we lie?

How come a reciter in a mosque reads very hard verses about

hell and punishment of hellfire while his admirers shouting,:

"Oh my God! please repeat it, again Ya Mawallana (Shaikh),

"By Allah repeat again this verse ... It is wonderful."

And if you asked him, do you know what this verse is talking about?

It is a very hard verse, and about hellfire torment, he would say:

My God, the reciters hymnody is

unbelievable, really I want to hear it again.

It is odd and unreasonable that we deal with Quran

in this way. The Messenger (PBUH) used to seek

refuge in Allah from the horrors of fire when

reciting a verse about the torment of Hell - him.

That was the dealing of the Prophet (PBUH), how come

we deal with the verses in such superficial way.

In specific important part of a very long

Hadith, Narrated Samura bin Jundab (may Allh

be pleased with him) that the Prophet () had seen a dream that he went with two men,

till they came to a man Lying flat on his back, and

another man standing at his head carrying a big rock,

and crushing the head of the Lying man, with that

rock. Whenever he struck him, the stone rolled away.

The man went to pick it up and by the time he returned

to him, the crushed head had returned to its normal

state and the man came back and struck him again (and so

on). In the end of the Hadith the Prophet explained it:

The one whose head you saw being crushed is the one whom Allah had given the

knowledge of Qur'an (i.e. knowing it by heart) but he used to sleep at night

(i.e. he did not recite it then) and did not use to act upon it (i.e. upon its

orders etc.) by day; and so this punishment will go on till the Day of Resurrection.

Of course, this is a terrifying Hadith. We learn the

Quran, see it Infront of us, read it day and night,

and then sleep fully at night and never contemplate

on its verses or read it before Allah (Glory be to Him

But do not act upon its orders during the day, the fate

is such very severe end until the day of resurrection

Refer to the meaning of the Hadith, it clearly says that man never contemplated

on the meanings of Quran or follow it during the day. Isnt that we actually do?

We must stop to reflect on the morals and ethics of Muslims

today when they have not upheld Quran and failed to follow;

There's no need to elaborate on this clear matter and

people who have gone through experiences know my words well,

Not to mention the malpractices in the Quranic

centers such as cheating in Quran memorization

exams and the prevailing morals among people,

all these facts are known to many of us.

Tell me about the conduct of university students who are supposed to

be leaders; those who will be breachers (Imams) and educate people,

Tell me about cheating in school exams and intimidating

proctors who prevent cheating in exams shameful practices.

Because we are far away from the application of

Quran, we have reached this situation. We have

many people who have memorized the Quran by

heart albeit rather far from Islam and Quran.

By this, we come to our practical duties. The

first duty, we must directly monitor any situation

that contributes to destroying the respect of the Quran in

the souls of people. Muslims must not overlook such tendencies.

It is not acceptable we watch a scene in a movie or in a series where Quran is

defamed in a specific way without action, we must enlighten and advise people that:

Quran is not like that, Quran is revealed to rule, to

warn people and to bring them out of darkness into light.

The second duty is that everyone needs to start

with his family, spouse and children at home.

We must learn together the interpretations

of the Qur'an (Tafsir), for example Tafsir of

para or Juz 30, and ponder on the meanings

of its verses. even with a simplified Tafsir.

The third duty, as we bring private tutors for

our kids to teach them topics which sometimes have

no tangible impact or not effective in real life

and do not help graduates to get in the workforce,

why not bring honest and knowledge Shaikhs to teach our children the Islamic

studies at home like Al-Sira (biography), Figh (jurisprudence, and Aqeeda (creed).

To conclude, we at Al Rashedon Channel seek Allah's help - the Lord

of the worlds in this mission, so what the approach of the Channel?

We will move gradually with the Quran.

If a non-Muslim person wants to know about this miraculous book, then he/she will get

resources by browsing pages and verses of the

Quran and can ponder to extract the meanings.

If a Muslim, whose relationship with the Quran

is weak, decided to strengthen this relationship,

The best start is to ponder on each verse as if he or

she really has no information about the interpretation

or any information about this book and feel the

greatness of The Almighty who revealed this book.

Then we gradually begin to understand the meanings of the

Quranic words, and complete Tafsir together by Allahs help,

And then we advance in our relationship with the

Quran to the point where we get in-depth and

profound understanding of the verses of the Noble

Quran. We will feel the inimitability of the Qur'an.

Once you discover how each Surah is a miracle in its verses

order, a miracle in its chronological order in the Scripture

and in its linking with Surahs preceding and Surahs following, you

will never believe how you will be firmly attached to the Quran,

when you learn that each surah has general

features and basic objectives, and that each

Surahs beginning, its verses and ending serve

the very basic goal and general features.

Even the stories within each Surah are narrated in a specific context and

certain vocabulary to serve this meaning and the main themes in the Surah.

Sometimes, we are deeply touched by the verses, or we

cry out of fear of Allah The Almighty while reading.

This time we will be much moved. We will be moved by an entire

Surah or many verses within the surah. In every session and

with each Surah, we will be waiting eagerly for the night

prayer (Qiym) standing part of the nigh alone to worship Allah.

We ponder on the verses of the miraculous book and will

realize the greatness of Allah from the greatest verses,

and you stand up to say Allahu Akbar whenever you go

through a very strong meaning that touches your heart.

The majesty and high symmetry of the verses, particularly

during the night prayer, is a dazzling experience.

You will remain standing unwilling to finish the Rakah

(repetitive unit of prayer) even it takes too long time,

you may complete Surah Al Baqara ,and possibly Al Baqara and Al Imran in

a single Rakah, not willing to make Taslim (concluding part of prayer)

and miss the Rakah because of the level of delight of the

greatness of the verses and their spiritual effect on you.

InshaAllah, this the goal of Al Rashedon Channel in the

Quran section. We pray for Allah The Almighty will help us.

Today we have discussed a number of examples of dealing with the

Holy Quran, some are negative and others behaviors look good,

but in reality, they are ineffective but this is not what is required of us at all.

We have studied the goals of the Quran i.e.

guidance, light and judgment among people. We talked

about morals and society, and how our daily life

shows that we are completely distant from the Quran.

We have set a practical duty and we said that

we must monitor anything, any word, any stance

which aims to destroy the respect of the Noble Quran within

the souls of Muslims, and directly warn them against it,

We must start by talking with our children and our families at

home about Tafsir and also review even a simple Tafsir book.

We must seek to follow honest, trustworthy Shaikhs

(scholars) to teach our children Islamic studies at home.

We talked about Al-Rashedon channel, the ambitious dream that we anticipate

to achieve, by Allah willing, in our relationship with the Quran.

O Allah, Am I have delivered? O Allah, so make witness!

I testify that there is no God but Thou; I ask

Thy pardon, and return to Thee in repentance.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

The Description of شراسة الحربٌ على كتاب الله (رؤية شديدة الجرأة في التعامل مع القرآن الكريم)
