TRAFFIC, 4 MILES PER HOUR IN

SOME AREAS.

SO KEEP THAT IN MIND.

THAT IS COUNTERCOMMUTE.

BUT STILL, AGAIN, BACKUP FOR

MILES.

BAY BRIDGE TOLL PLAZA, YOU

KNOW, AS THE METERING LIGHTS

ARE ON, YOU CAN SEE THAT

TRAFFIC BACKED UP ONCE YOU GET

PAST THE TOLL PLAZA, IT SHOULD

BE LOOKING GOOD.

I'M JACKIE WARD IN THE KPIX

5 STUDIO, AT YOU ARE LOOKING

LIVE AT UC DAVIS MEDICAL CENTER

IN SACRAMENTO, WHERE A PATIENT

WAS THE FIRST COMMUNITY SPREAD

CASE OF THE CORONAVIRUS IN THE

COUNTRY.

BEING TREATED THIS MORNING.

AND HEALTH EXPERTS ARE NOW

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS

PERSON GOT SICK BECAUSE THEY

HAD NOT TRAVEL TO ANOTHER

COUNTRY OR HAD CLOSE CONTACT

WITH SOMEONE WHO HAD.

THE PATIENT WENT TO UC DAVIS

LAST WEDNESDAY AND DOCTORS SAY

DID NOT WASTE ANY TIME ORDERING

CORONAVIRUS TESTS FOR THE

PATIENT RIGHT AWAY.

YET, ACCORDING TO THE ELITE UT

UC DAVIS INTERNAL EMAIL, THE

PATIENT DID NOT FIT THE

EXISTING CDC CRITERIA FOR THE

VIRUS AND THE PATIENT WAS NOT

TESTED UNTIL SUNDAY.

WHEN THE TEST RESULTS CAME

BACK, IT WAS POSITIVE.

THE TESTING IS VERY LIMITED

RIGHT NOW.

WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE

WIDESPREAD TESTING SO THAT WE

KNOW WHERE THIS VIRUS IS, WHO

IS SICK AND WHO IS AT RISK.

PRESIDENT TRUMP ANNOUNCED

YESTERDAY THAT VICE PRESIDENT

MIKE PENCE WILL LEAD THE

COUNTRY'S CORONAVIRUS TASK

FORCE.
