AS WELL, GUYS, IT IS BEAUTIFUL,

BUT IT IS COMING DOWN PRETTY

HARD WHICH WILL MAKE FOR A

TRICKY TRAVEL TOMORROW.

WE'LL TALK ABOUT TOMORROW

COMING UP IN A FEW MINIMUM

MOMENTS.

A LOT OF INTEREST IN THAT,

THANKS.

THINGS ARE ALREADY A MESS

IN THE COLORADO HIGH COUNTRY

AND THERE IS A LOT MORE SNOW TO

COME.

METEOROLOGIST CHRIS PEERS SENT

US THIS VIDEO FROM THE VERY

SLOW DRIVE WEST ALONG I-70

EARLIER THIS EVENING.

WE DO HAVE THE PLOWS OUT BUT IT

IS HARD TO KEEP UP ESPECIALLY

ON THE I-70 CORRIDOR.

ALONG WITH CLEARING SNOW, CREWS

ARE ALSO CLEARING WRECKED CARS

OFF THE HIGHWAY, THERE HAVE

BEEN SO MANY ACCIDENTS TODAY.

NEWSROOM REPORTER MATT KERSHAW

CHECKING IN FROM SUMMIT COUNTY,

MATT, WE ALSO HAVE AVALANCHE

DANGER WHICH COULD MAKE GETTING

AROUND EVEN TRICKIER.

Reporter: ABSOLUTELY, IT IS

NOT JUST THE AMOUNT OF SNOW

THAT IS FALLING, IT IS WIND

THAT WILL BE MAKING IT EVEN

WORSE FOR THESE CRUISE TOMORROW

MORNING.

NOT ONLY DEALING WITH I-70,

EASTBOUND HERE AT SILVERTHORNE

AND UPON VAIL PASS, BUT THEY

WILL ALSO BE DEALING WITH THE

MITIGATION FOR AVALANCHES UP ON

THE HILLSIDE.

WE ARE ANTICIPATING A PRETTY

MAJOR WINTER STORM HERE.

Reporter: THAT MIGHT BE THE

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE DAY.

ALL HANDS ON DECK RIGHT NOW,

WE ARE BRINGING ALL OUR CREWS

IN UP IN THE MOUNTAIN.

D.O.T.

CREWS WORKING OVERTIME AS THE

SNOW STACKS UP.

THOSE CREWS ARE TURNING THEIR

ATTENTION TO THE THREAT OF

AVALANCHES.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A

PRETTY WIDESPREAD AVALANCHE

MITIGATION EFFORTS GOING ON ON

THE I-70 CORRIDOR.

Reporter: THAT MEANS

CLOSURES, AND THOSE COULD BE

LINKED AS LAST MARCH SHOWED US

ANYTHING WITH THE INTERSTATE

WAS CLOSED FOR HOURS AS THEY

CLEANED UP THE AVALANCHES.

WE ARE EXPECTING WITH THIS

TRAFFIC CHALLENGING DRIVING

CONDITIONS THAT THERE WILL BE

SOME DELAYS TO TRAVEL TOMORROW.

PEOPLE NEED TO BE PREPARED AND

EXPECT SOME DELAYS AND

DIFFICULT TRAVEL IN THE

MOUNTAINS.

Reporter: A PERFECT STORM

COMBINING HEAVY WEEKEND SKI

TRAFFIC WITH A BIG WINTER PUSH.

Reporter: THE HOPE IS, THEY

CAN GET I-70 BACK OPEN TO GET

SOME OF THESE PEOPLE STRANDED

IN SUMMIT COUNTY, THERE IS

REALLY NOWHERE ELSE TO PARK.

A GAS STATION PARKING LOTS JUST

TRYING TO WAIT THIS THING OUT,
