Bloombase provides data-at-rest encryption by acting as storage firewall in between Dell EMC Isilon and client host
Configure SMB share on Dell Isilon
Access Bloombase web management console
Configure physical storage
Select remote for physical storage type and CIFS for type
Input Dell Isilon host and share name
Configure virtual storage
Select file for mode and SMB for protocol
Choose the just created physical storage
Select privacy for protection type
Choose the encryption key
Choose the encryption algorithm
Configure access control
Start Bloombase virtual share
On client host, access Bloombase virtual share
Create a file on Bloombase virtual share
Any file/data stored in Bloombase virtual share will be seamlessly encrypted and stored at the backend storage
Configure NFS share on Dell Isilon
Access Bloombase web management console
Configure physical storage
Select remote for physical storage type and NFS for type
Input Dell Isilon host and share path
Configure virtual storage
Select file for mode and NFS for protocol
Choose the just created physical storage
Select privacy for protection type
Choose the encryption key
Choose the encryption algorithm
Configure access control
Start Bloombase virtual share
On client host, confirm that it has access to Bloombase virtual share
Mount Bloombase virtual share
Create a file on Bloombase virtual share
For demo purpose, Dell Isilon is mounted on the same client
Any file/data stored in Bloombase virtual share will be seamlessly encrypted and stored at the backend storage
