at first I thought he was just

exaggerating some details but then I was

wondering if he was making up things but

more so we were just getting his version

of everything not an objective account

[Music]

it seems like the more time he spends

focusing on other people's flaws he

doesn't have to confront his own

shortcomings which are many and he

avoids introspection by judging everyone

else non-stop messed up really messed up

complicated he's nasty and cynical and

kind of mean to other people but he can

also be idealistic and sweet sometimes

sexy kind of kind critical and also

hypocritical vulnerable I have this

theory that he is writing on his story

as a form of therapy while he's getting

mental health treatment I hope he gets

better

I think Holden is basically JD Salinger

so according to my theory he becomes a

successful writer and that becomes a

weird recluse it's got great information

on hundreds and hundreds of books and

plays every time I go on sparknotes to

look up a book I've been assigned it's

been there
