We'll enjoy chicken gravy with idly, dosa, chappathi
We are going to make chicken gravy today
We are going to make this gravy by blending onion, tomatoes together
Kids will keep onion,green chilly aside and eat,
By grinding this all together, it makes a thick gravy and easy to eat for kids
Adding about 2 spoons of oil
To saute tomatoes , onion
I have taken 1 kg chicken
Cumin seeds -1/2 spoon
Fennel seeds -1/2 spoon
Pepper corns -1/2 spoon
Cinnamon sticks - 2 pieces
Star anise -1
cloves - 2 nos
Cardamom - 2 nos
Roast everything together
Garlic- 10 nos
Ginger- 1 small piece
This masala should be mild so i have taken less quantity of ginger and garlic
Green chillies - 5 nos
Coriander leaves - few
Adding coriander leaves, green chillies will gives a flavor
Adding 3 big onions chopped to it
Adding 3 tomatoes roughly chopped
Adding 2 spoons of coriander powder
You can add 3 spoons of kashmeri red chilly powder too
Saute everything together
Add required salt to it
Adding about 2 spoons of salt
Turmeric powder -1/2 spoon
Saute everything together until the raw smell goes
Its well cooked now and its cooled completely
We'll grind this to a fine paste
Blend this smoothly
Add oil and saute this masala paste
Adding about 4-5 spoons of oil
For 1 kg chicken
Add the ground masala paste to the oil
Saute this for few mins
Add the chicken pieces to it
I have washed the chicken. Added turmeric powder and salt
Saute evenly after adding the chicken pieces
Add the chicken pieces and saute in low flame
If you are serving this for chappathi / dosa, keep thick in consistency like this
I'm making this for idly today
So i'm adding little water to this
Cover cook this
Let it cook for about 10 mins
Chicken gravy is now ready
Switch off the flame now
If you keep this in low flame and cook, the gravy will combine with chicken and gives a taste
Transfer this to a serving bowl
Chicken gravy and idly is now to serve
Having this on sundays will be a good feeling
