Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies!
Today, I’m gonna be making something Easy Mode!
I got a lot of requests for more Rice Krispies recipes, so today I’m gonna be
making chocolate rice krispies and peanut butter rice krispies!
We’re gonna be theming them Minecraft because I got so many emails for
more Minecraft! So here you go! I shall give them to you!
Let’s get started!
The things you will need, because we are baking 2 recipes today, will be:
A big box of Rice Krispies cereal, peanut butter chocolate, yum-yum-yum!
Regular peanut butter, pam baking spray, 2 bags of the 10 ounce mini
marshmallows, a sh-tick of butter, and a square cookie cutter!
And, a 9x13 inch pan, it helps if you have 2, because we’re making 2 recipes,
but if you don’t, no worries, just refrigerate 1, and then switch ‘em out.
OK, first thing that we’re gonna do before we head over to the stove is
grease our pan with a little bit of baking spray.
Berrp!
OK, now we’re gonna take all of this and head over to the stove!
Rice Krispies are super easy to make, the first thing that you’re gonna do
is take a medium sized saucepan, put it on the stove on a low heat,
and you’re gonna take 3 tablespoons of butter, and put it in the pan and stir
it around until it melts. Once your butter is melted you’re gonna take 10 ounces
of mini marshmallows, and pour them in the pot, and stir them around until
they have liquified, and it’s super sticky!
Once your marshmallows are melted, you’re going to turn off the heat,
and you’re going to pour in 2/3 cup of peanut butter and mix around again
until everything is schmooth!
Now that the peanut butter is in there, we’re gonna add 5 cups of Rice Krispies!
And we’re just gonna fold it in until it’s all mixed.
Once your Rice Krispies are all mixed, you’re just going to pour it into the glass
pan and then use a piece of wax paper and press down on the top to make them
flat. Rice Krispies are all ready, I’m gonna put these in the fridge for about
30 minutes to chill. And, to make your chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispies,
same recipe, only instead of 2/3 cup of peanut butter, 2/3 cup of
chocolate peanut butter! Yum-yum!
30 Minutes, I just popped these out of the pan from the fridge, so they’re nice and
chilled, and what we’re gonna do is take your square cookie cutter, and we’re
gonna cut out a bunch of squares into the Rice Krispy treats.
Once you've cut out all your little Rice Krispies squares, we’re just going to
double stack them, to make them look more like a brick. So you’re just gonna
take 1, stack it on top of the other, and then to make it look really nice you
can just push it in with your fingers, so it looks like 1 piece.
And you’re just gonna do that to all of your Rice Krispies treats.
We have got all of our Rice Krispies double stacked, they smell so good!
Peanut butter Rice Krispies and chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispies!
We are going to decorate now, all you'll need are our white chocolate melts, and
we’re gonna heat those up, you can either heat them up in the microwave or
on the stove, whatever’s easier.
And we have red Airheads, they are the cherry flavor, those will be the red ones!
Not to be confused with the watermelon, I think those are pink.
And green frosting. Mmmm!
And I’ve used this little tip with all these little holes, because it makes
grass, I love this tip, I use it every time I have to make grass on a cake or a
cupcake, very handy!
Let’s see, it’s a Wilton 233. That’s what tip it is, Wilton 233.
Alright, and I’ll show you kind of what it does, you put a little pressure.
Woooop!
And it makes little grass!
Look how cute that is!
OK, so we’re gonna first start with our grass blocks, and we’re just gonna make
grass on top of our Rice Krispies treats!
Now that we’ve got our grass blocks all done, we are gonna decorate our little
Minecraft cakes, they’re so cute! They’re the tan color so the peanut butter
Rice Krispies worked perfectly!
I just melted a bunch of white chocolates into this little squeezey bottle,
but you can do whatever you want, you can even dip the top of them into a little
bowl if you want. I just chose this because I thought it would be easier for me.
And you’re just gonna put it on the top, 1 layer on the top, and then we’re
gonna decorate the sides.
Now that we’ve got the chocolate on top of all our little Minecraft Cakes,
we are gonna decorate the top using the little red Airheads!
I’ve opened 1 so you can see, and now we’re just gonna cut little squares
and put ‘em on the top!
You can make them a variety of sizes because that’s what they look like in the
video game, just cut a bunch of little square sizes.
Ta-da! Here are our Minecraft Rice Krispy treats!
