Fish Fry Sardinescut and clean Ginger2 small pieces Garlic8 big cloves Peppercorns1 tbsp Green chilly8 nos or as per taste Fennel seeds1 tbsp Dried chilly or chilly powder Turmeric powder – ¾ tbsp Chilly powder – ¾ tbsp. Salt Oil

Let's make a simple and delicious lunch today..

we also need cumin seeds for flavour while tempering..

first, let's cook the lentils..

in a pressure cooker, add 1 glass of dal..

wash the lentils and add enough water to it to cook..

I added around 3/4th of this huge mug

Add coconut oil

place on the stove and cook until 1 whistle. Then let it cook for another 10 mins on a low flame

Now, let's prepare masala to marinate cut and cleaned sardines..

Ginger2 small pieces Garlic8 big cloves Peppercorns1 tbsp Green chilly8 nos or as per taste Fennel seeds1 tbsp Dried chilly or chilly powder

add all the ingredients to a mixer grinder

add enough water and grind into a fine paste

Add Turmeric powder – ¾ tbsp Chilly powder – ¾ tbsp. Along with salt to taste and the finely ground paste

marinate the fish really well for at least 1 hour

the lentils have now cooked well.. let's prepare the curry now

heat a pan and add coconut oil

add 1/3 tbsp mustard seeds and let it splutter

add Cumin seeds1 ¼ tsp

Add finely chopped ginger and garlic, chopped onion and green chillies..

saute everything well in enough oil..

Add ¼ tbsp turmeric powder and sauté until the raw smell goes away

Add Pepper powder – ¼ tbsp

roughly chop in 1 tomato

add salt to taste and saute on a high flame

now, add cooked lentils

add chopped coriander leaves, mix and turn off the flame..

to fry the fish, heat a pan and add oil

add in the fish one by one and fry on both sides

i'm cooking rice on the other stove as well..

Let's also fry curd chillies (Kondatta mulaku) and pappadam as well.

serve on a plate along with rice and enjoy your meals..!! :)
