Anthony: THE BACKYARD POOL JUST WENT WILD.

AAH!

NOW WE'RE BUILDING SPECTACULAR SWIMMING POOLS

THAT REPLICATE THE REAL THING.

I'M ANTHONY ARCHER-WILLS, THE POOL MASTER.

[ HOWLS ]

AAH!

IT'S LOVELY. COME ON IN.

ED IS MY MASTER EXCAVATOR.

I ENJOY GETTING ANTHONY'S FEATHERS RUFFLED.

Anthony: THEN THERE'S DAVE, MY LONG-SUFFERING SITE MANAGER.

I LOVE THE GUY, BUT HE MAKES ME CRAZY.

Anthony: TOGETHER, WE CREATE WILD WATER

WHERE THERE WAS NONE...

THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT.

Anthony: ...AND TURN BACKYARD DREAMS

INTO NATURAL MASTERPIECES.

Ed: SO, ANTHONY, WHERE ARE WE GOING?

WHAT DO YOU HAVE UP YOUR SLEEVE FOR US TODAY?

WELL, I'M BRINGING YOU TO THE JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP GARDEN,

WHERE WE CAN ALL BE INSPIRED.

SOUNDS GOOD. I LOVE JAPANESE GARDENS.

Anthony: THE GUYS AND I ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

WE'RE GETTING READY TO DO A NEW PROJECT NEAR SAN DIEGO.

I SPOKE TO THE CLIENT OVER THE PHONE AND LEARNED ABOUT

HIS APPRECIATION FOR JAPANESE DESIGN.

SO IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA FOR THE GUYS AND ME

TO VISIT A JAPANESE GARDEN FOR SOME INSPIRATION.

WOW, LOOK AT THIS.

BEAUTIFUL.

ISN'T THIS FUN?

THIS IS PRETTY COOL.

ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING THINGS ABOUT JAPANESE GARDENS

IS THEIR ABILITY TO CREATE AN AIR OF MYSTERY AND ADVENTURE.

YOU CAN'T JUST LOOK OUT AND SEE EVERYTHING AT ONCE.

INSTEAD, YOU HAVE TO TAKE TWISTING PATHS

THAT BECKON YOU TO EXPLORE,

AND WHEN YOU EXPLORE, YOU GET REWARDED FOR IT.

HERE'S WHAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT.

OH, LOOK. SHISHI-ODOSHI.

LOOK AT THAT.

IT'S WORKING.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

MECHANICAL, DRIVEN BY WATER.

MM-HMM.

SHISHI-ODOSHI -- LITERALLY "TO SCARE THE DEER."

THEY HEAR THIS -- "OH, SOMEBODY WORKING IN THE GARDEN.

WE BETTER KEEP OUT."

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN.

I LOVE THE SIMPLICITY AND TRANQUILITY,

AS WELL AS THE CREATIVE USES OF WATER.

THESE ARE PRINCIPLES I TRY TO BRING TO MY DESIGNS.

THE FISH WHISPERER.

YOU KNOW, IT'S SO INSPIRING, THIS,

JUST TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE HAVE DONE.

THIS IS WHAT'S FUN ABOUT COMING TO THE JAPANESE GARDENS

AND WHAT WE DO.

IT'S SO SIMILAR TO WHAT WE DO, ISN'T IT?

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

NOW I'M EVEN MORE EXCITED TO GET STARTED ON OUR NEW PROJECT.

OUR NEW CLIENTS, THE CHANDLERS, ARE IN RAMONA, CALIFORNIA,

A BEAUTIFUL SPOT IN THE HILLS OUTSIDE OF SAN DIEGO.

[ DOORBELL RINGS ]

HELLO.

HELLO.

I'M ANTHONY.

HI, ANTHONY. ANDY.

GREAT TO MEET YOU, ANDY.

NICE TO MEET YOU.

HI. HEATHER.

HEATHER, WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL.

NICE TO MEET YOU.

IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU.

Andy: WE LIVE HERE ON FOUR ACRES HERE IN RAMONA.

A LOT OF PRIVACY, A LITTLE SECLUDED,

A VERY NATURAL SETTING.

WE LOOKED AT SEVERAL OF ANTHONY'S PREVIOUS DESIGNS

AND REALLY LIKED THEM.

WE WANTED NATURAL STONE. WE WANTED A LOT OF LANDSCAPING.

WE DIDN'T WANT JUST A SIMPLE, CONCRETE, CONTEMPORARY POOL.

Andy: HERE'S THE BACKYARD.

WOW, I'VE GOT A BIG PALETTE.

YOU REALLY DO. BIG, BLANK PALETTE.

SO, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? WHAT HAVE YOU IN MIND FOR HERE?

WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING A NICE, RELAXING BACKYARD.

THE SOUND OF SOME BUBBLING WATER, A STREAM, FIRE FEATURE.

A VACATION SPOT.

Heather: ANDY AND I OWN OUR OWN BUSINESSES.

WE BOTH WORK REALLY, REALLY HARD.

WE NEED A RELAXATION SPOT.

WE NEED A VACATION SPOT IN OUR BACKYARD.

WE DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO GO PLACES,

SO THIS WILL BE THE PERFECT SOLUTION TO THAT PROBLEM.

I WANT TO OPEN MY BACK DOORS AND HAVE BEACH ENTRY,

WHERE I CAN LAY IN THE SUN, BE IN THE WATER.

A LITTLE BEVERAGE BESIDE YOU?

A LITTLE BEVERAGE WOULD BE GOOD, TOO.

YES. YES. YES.

ALWAYS.

RIGHT. SO, THEN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE

'CAUSE YOU'VE GOT IT ALL HERE.

EXACTLY.

EXACTLY WHAT WE WOULD LOVE.

SORT OF STYLE-WISE, YOU HAD ANY THOUGHTS

ABOUT, YOU KNOW, WHAT YOU'VE SEEN, WHAT YOU LIKE?

CLEAN LINES, MAYBE WITH A JAPANESE FLAVOR TO IT.

I WAS BORN IN JAPAN. BEING HALF JAPANESE,

I THINK THE IDEA OF A JAPANESE STYLE BACKYARD, OUR GARDEN HERE,

IS REALLY GONNA BE EXCITING.

WELL, I WANT A NATURALISTIC POOL.

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THAT SURROUNDED

WITH JUST A CLEAN, TIDY SPACE.

HE'S VERY O.C.D.

HE LIKES THINGS TIDY.

HE LIKES THEM PERFECT, WELL-KEPT.

IF ANYTHING'S OUT OF PLACE, HE'S GOT TO MOVE IT BACK.

UH...

OH, BOY.

AM I IN TROUBLE HERE?

YOU MIGHT BE IN A LITTLE BIT OF TROUBLE HERE.

OH, DEAR.

[ LAUGHTER ]

Anthony: ANDY WANTS SOMETHING THAT'S GOT CLEAN LINES AND IS NATURALISTIC.

BUT NATURAL LANDSCAPES AREN'T ALWAYS NEAT AND TIDY.

I'M GONNA REALLY HAVE TO THINK ABOUT

HOW TO RECONCILE THESE TWO DIFFERENT CONCEPTS.

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A VERY DEEP-WATER NATURAL POOL.

OH, REALLY?

WE WANT TO JUMP IN.

I WOULD LIKE TO GO AND JUST GET A FEEL FOR THE PLACE

AND DO SOME SKETCHING. AND THEN I'LL GIVE YOU A SHOUT.

SOUNDS GREAT.

HOW'S THAT?

TAKE YOUR TIME.

WONDERFUL. THANKS.

THANK YOU.

THIS POOL ACTUALLY HAS A LOT OF CHALLENGES.

ONE OF THE CRUCIAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS WHOLE DESIGN

IS THE HOMEOWNER WANTS VERY HARD, SHARP, SIMPLE LINES.

AND YET, THEY ALSO WANT IT TO LOOK NATURALISTIC.

A JAPANESE GARDEN IS REALLY GOING TO BE THE WAY

TO MARRY THIS IDEA OF NATURALISM WITH A CLEAN, ORDERLY SPACE.

IT'S GOING TO BE A CHALLENGE.

BUT A I'M A SUCKER FOR A CHALLENGE.

COME AND SEE WHAT I'VE PLANNED.

OKAY.

OKAY.

NOW, LOOK.

I REALLY HATE THAT FENCE.

[ LAUGHS ]

IT JUST SHUTS OFF YOUR VIEW,

AND IT SAYS "THAT'S THE END OF THE GARDEN," YOU KNOW?

YEAH.

IT CLOSES YOUR VISTA OFF.

I WANT THE GARDEN TO GO THIS WAY, RATHER THAN THIS WAY.

WOULD YOU BE AVERSE TO US RIPPING THAT FENCE OUT?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

BLOW IT OUT.

REALLY?

TAKE IT OUT.

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL.

AWESOME.

OH, GREAT. THAT'S EXCELLENT.

THIS IS MY FIRST CONCEPT.

OKAY.

Anthony: THIS COUPLE WANTS A NATURAL POOL

WITH THE CLEAN LINES AND ORDERLY DESIGN

OF A JAPANESE-STYLE GARDEN.

SO THE FIRST THING WE'LL DO

IS TEAR DOWN THE FENCE TO GIVE US SOME MUCH-NEEDED SPACE.

THAT WAY, THIS POOL CAN BREATHE.

THEN WE'LL START THE WATER FLOW FROM WITHIN AN UPPER BIOFILTER,

WHERE IT WILL BE NATURALLY FILTERED

AS IT TRICKLES THROUGH BEAUTIFUL AQUATIC PLANTS AND GRAVEL,

OVER A WATERFALL, AND INTO THE MAIN SWIMMING BASIN.

THIS POOL WILL HAVE A DEEP AREA FOR JUMPING

AND A SHALLOW ROCK SHELF FOR SUNNING,

AS WELL AS A GIANT ROCK MOUNTAIN THAT WILL HIDE A HOT TUB,

COMPLETE WITH ITS VERY OWN WATERFALL.

FROM HERE, WATER WILL FLOW

INTO ANOTHER BIOFILTER WITH EVEN MORE AQUATIC PLANTS

AND CAN EXPLORED ON A ZIG-ZAGGING BOARDWALK.

TO GIVE THEM A WARM PLACE TO RELAX

AND TAKE IN THEIR VIEW OF THE NEW POOL,

I'M GOING TO PUT IN A FIRE PIT.

THAT WAY, THEY CAN STAY WARM AFTER A COOLING SWIM.

IT'S GOING TO BE A BACKYARD PARADISE

WITH SURPRISES AROUND EVERY CORNER.

FROM WHAT I SEE, I REALLY LIKE THE DESIGN.

I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE THE PERFECT VACATION SPOT.

OH, YOU DID A GREAT JOB.

THAT'S GREAT.

WHEN CAN WE GET STARTED?

THIS IS SO EXCITING.

HOW ABOUT TOMORROW?

LET'S DO IT TOMORROW.

PERFECT.

TOMORROW'S THE DAY.

HEY, GUYS.

I'M REALLY EXCITED TO SHOW YOU THIS.

THEY ACTUALLY WANT TO HAVE THEIR VACATION HERE IN THEIR OWN HOME.

Ed: THAT MAKES SENSE.

SO, I THOUGHT, WELL, WHAT ABOUT A HOT TUB

EMBEDDED IN A MOUNTAIN?

AND A WATERFALL IN THIS CORNER HERE?

HOW HIGH YOU TALKING ABOUT?

OH, 3 OR 4 FEET.

OKAY.

3...OR 4 FEET.

3 FEET, 4 FEET.

6. 8.

OR SO. [ LAUGHS ]

AND THAT'S A ZIG-ZAG BRIDGE.

SO YOU'VE GOT AN AMAZING SELECTION OF ELEMENTS HERE.

YOU THINK IT'S DOABLE, GUYS?

SURE, IT IS.

YEAH.

WELL, THE GUYS ARE ON BOARD WITH THE DESIGN.

TIME TO MARK OUT THE POOL!

LET'S PUT THIS DOWN,

AND WE'LL PUT THE CABLE OUT AND SEE HOW IT LOOKS ON THE GROUND.

BIG, ED.

BIG. THINK BIG.

MARKING OUT THE POOL

IS A VERY IMPORTANT FIRST STEP IN THE BUILD.

THIS WHERE WE WORK OUT THE FINAL DIMENSIONS

SO DAVE KNOWS HOW MUCH CONCRETE TO ORDER

AND ED KNOWS WERE TO DIG.

IT ALL STARTS HERE.

GO ALL THE WAY 'ROUND, NOW.

FIRST OF ALL, I USE THE MEASURING TAPE

TO WORK OUT THE BASIC DIMENSIONS.

THEN I CREATE A ROUGH OUTLINE OF THE POOL

BEFORE MARKING OUT THE FINAL SHAPE WITH A SPRAY PAINT.

IT'S PERFECT.

WELL, A LITTLE DRIZZLE CAN'T STOP US FROM BREAKING GROUND.

BEFORE WE EVEN START DIGGING THE MAIN SWIMMING BASIN,

WE HAVE CLEAR THE CHANDLERS' YARD TO CREATE A BLANK CANVAS.

THAT MEANS THE LAWN, FENCE, AND HEDGES HAVE TO GO.

TRUNDLE IN HERE.

CAREFUL.

Ed: I'M SINKING!

I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M SINKING.

WHY ARE YOU SINKING?

I HAVE NO IDEA, BUT IT'S NOT GOOD.

ED'S HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE MANEUVERING IN THE MUD,

AND IT'S NOT EVEN RAINING THAT HARD.

WATER SEEMS TO BE COLLECTING

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR POOL BUILD.

WE'VE GOT A WATER PROBLEM HERE.

[ GROANS ]

SO, ANTHONY, THAT'S A DRY WELL.

IT DOESN'T LOOK DRY TO ME.

NO.

HITTING A DRY WELL IS A MAJOR PROBLEM.

RAINWATER IS DIVERTED FROM ALL OVER THE PROPERTY

TO THIS MAN-MADE GRAVEL-FILLED PIT, AND NOW WE'VE HIT IT.

IT'S CREATING QUITE A MESS.

THAT IS THE CENTER OF YOUR POOL.

THIS IS NOT GOOD.

THIS IS GONNA BE A MAJOR PROBLEM.

[ ANTHONY GROANS ]

ANTHONY, THAT'S A DRY WELL.

IT DOESN'T LOOK DRY TO ME.

NO.

AND WHAT CONCERNS ME IS HOW BIG THIS THING IS, HOW DEEP IT IS.

ARE WE JUST GOING TO HIT A LOT OF LOOSE GRAVEL AND SAND?

AND IT'S GOING TO MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT.

WE'RE GONNA BE DIGGING MUD. THERE'S NO WAY AROUND IT.

BUT WE'VE DONE IT, SO LET'S DO IT AGAIN.

ALL RIGHT, ED.

ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU.

HOLY CRAP!

Ed: DIGGING THROUGH MUD IS JUST HARDER

THAN DIGGING THROUGH DIRT. IT'S MESSY,

AND YOU NEED IT TO COMPACT IN ORDER TO HOLD A SHAPE.

AND IT JUST SEEMS LIKE FOR EVERY SCOOP I TAKE OUT,

TWO SCOOPS OF WATERY MUD JUST SLIDE BACK IN.

HEY, ED.

Anthony: ED'S BEEN DIGGING AWAY,

AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH HE'S FINALLY GOT BELOW ALL THE MUD.

ED, NICE SLOPE. THIS IS GOOD.

SINCE THE OWNER WANTS TO BE ABLE

TO JUMP INTO THE MAIN SWIMMING BASIN,

FOR SAFETY'S SAKE,

WE'VE GOT TO MAKE SURE WE'RE DIGGING IT DEEP ENOUGH.

IT'S GOT TO BE 6 INCHES DEEPER THAN HE WILL EVER JUMP.

WELL, HOW DO WE KNOW HOW HIGH HE CAN JUMP?

[ Laughing ] HE'S JUMPING DOWN. HE'S NOT JUMPING UP.

YOU DON'T JUMP DOWN, YOU FALL DOWN.

YOU JUMP UP.

HE'S GOING TO GO SPLAT -- I MEAN SPLASH.

SPLASH, NOT SPLAT. SPLAT'S BAD.

[ Chuckling ] GUYS!

MY HEAD'S GOING 'ROUND AND 'ROUND...

STILL?

...WITH YOU GUYS.

THE POINT IS...

I KNEW IT WAS COMING.

...WE'VE GOT THIS HUGE DROP-OFF,

SO YOU'RE HAVING TO OVER-DIG BY AT LEAST 8 INCHES

TO ACCOMMODATE THE THICKNESS OF THE CONCRETE.

RIGHT.

WE SHOULD ACTUALLY CHECK THE ELEVATION.

IN ORDER TO EXCAVATE TO A SAFE DEPTH,

WE'RE USING A LASER LEVEL

TO MAKE SURE WE'VE GOT 8 FEET OF WATER

PLUS EXTRA TO ACCOUNT FOR THE CONCRETE AND THE OVERHANG.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL DIG, ED. I LOVE IT.

AND MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST FLATTEN THE BOTTOM

A BIT MORE IN YOUR DIRECTION.

WE'RE IN GOOD SHAPE?

AS GOOD AS WE GET.

LOVELY. THANK YOU.

OH, MAN.

NOW THAT THE MAIN SWIMMING BASIN IS AT THE CORRECT DEPTH,

WE CAN CREATE A FRAMEWORK FOR THE ELEVATED HOT TUB.

WHILE THE HOT TUB IS BEING CONSTRUCTED,

WORKERS ARE INSTALLING REBAR

IN THE BOTTOM AND SIDES OF THE MAIN SWIMMING BASIN

THAT WILL REINFORCE THE CONCRETE THAT WE'RE ADDING.

FOR THIS POOL,

WE'RE APPLYING CONCRETE USING THE SHOTCRETE METHOD.

BASICALLY, WE'RE SPRAYING CONCRETE AT HIGH VELOCITY

ONTO THE STEEL REBAR MESH

IN ORDER TO HOLD AND CREATE THE SHAPE OF THE POOL.

FOR A POOL THIS DEEP, WITH SUCH A STEEP INCLINE,

SHOTCRETE REALLY IS THE ONLY WAY.

WHILE THE WORKERS ARE APPLYING SHOTCRETE TO THE MAIN BASIN,

DAVE AND I ARE WORKING ON THE STREAM AND UPPER BIO-POOL.

WE'RE LAYING IN THE RUBBER LINERS

AND TOPPING IT WITH GRAVEL.

WHAT ARE YOU UP TO OUT HERE?

OH. I'M JUST, UH,

REALLY SPREADING THE GRAVEL FOR THIS BIOFILTER HERE.

SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PROGRESS SO FAR?

I'M SURE IT MUST BE HORRIFYING FOR YOU.

IT'S A BIT OF DISASTER. [ LAUGHS ]

THIS IS THE MOMENT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE QUAIL WHEN THEY SEE IT.

[ LAUGHS ]

Anthony: ANDY AND HEATHER ARE SUCH A NICE, YOUNG COUPLE,

AND TO THEM, IT MUST LOOK LIKE WE'RE RUINING THEIR PROPERTY.

YET I LOVE THEIR ENTHUSIASM.

WE'RE WONDERING WHAT YOU'RE DOING LATER.

WE WANT TO TAKE YOU OUT TO THE DUNES.

WE GO OUT AND PLAY AROUND IN OFF-ROAD CARS,

AND WE'D LOVE TO TAKE YOU OUT AND SHOW YOU AROUND.

IT WOULD BE A LITTLE CHANGE OF SCENERY FOR YOU.

OH, THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL.

I COULD ACTUALLY DO WITH A SLIGHT CHANGE OF SCENE.

I'M SURE YOU COULD.

I'D LOVE TO COME.

GREAT. COME KNOCK ON THE DOOR WHEN YOU'RE READY TO GO.

THANK YOU. I'D LOVE TO JOIN YOU.

I'VE JUST GOT A LITTLE BIT MORE TO FINISH OFF HERE.

AND THEN I'LL COME AND SEE YOU.

THANKS.

YES. SEE YOU SOON.

YEAH.

I'VE NEVER BEEN TO THE CALIFORNIA DESERT.

WHAT BETTER WAY OF WINDING DOWN AFTER A LONG DAY?

WITH ANY LUCK, WE SHOULD BE THERE IN TIME FOR SUNSET.

[ CHUCKLES ]

[ ENGINE REVS ]

OH, MY WORD! [ LAUGHS ]

Anthony: WORK IS DONE FOR THE DAY, AND WE'RE ON OUR WAY

TO MEET ANDY AND HEATHER OUT AT THE SAND DUNES.

I ALWAYS RELISH THESE OPPORTUNITIES

TO SPEND DOWN TIME WITH MY CLIENTS.

I GET TO SEE A DIFFERENT SIDE OF THEM,

AND IT HELPS ME TO TAILOR THE POOL JUST FOR THEM.

OH, LOOK WHO'S HERE.

HEY.

[ CHUCKLES ]

I'M A WATER MAN THROUGH AND THROUGH,

BUT I CAN'T DENY HOW AWE-INSPIRING THIS PLACE IS.

PLUS, THERE'S NO WATER IN SIGHT,

SO I CAN SEE WHY THEY NEED A POOL.

WHAT A SPOT.

OH, YEAH.

AMAZING.

THIS THING IS REALLY COOL. HOLY CRAP.

[ Chuckling ] THESE MACHINES ARE AMAZING!

I JUST THOUGHT WE'D BE HANGING OUT IN THE DESERT.

I DID NOT EXPECT TO BE RIDING IN DUNE BUGGIES.

WE'RE CLIMBING IN, STRAPPING HELMETS ON.

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.

[ ENGINE REVS ]

[ CHUCKLES ]

OH, MY WORD!

THESE PEOPLE ARE WILD ADVENTURERS.

THIS IS A FAR CRY

FROM THE NEAT AND ORDERLY POOL THAT ANDY WANTED.

WHOO!

IT HAD SO MUCH HORSEPOWER. AS SOON AS HE HIT THE GAS,

THE WHOLE THING JUST SQUATTED DOWN AND THEN JUST TOOK OFF.

IT WAS AWESOME.

IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

YOU KNOW, I AM SO GLAD

ANDY INVITED US HERE AT THE END OF THE DAY.

I'M -- I'M SPEECHLESS.

OH, COME ON.

MY GOODNESS.

[ LAUGHS ]

DID YOU HEAR MY SHRIEKS? IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME.

WELL, GOOD. GOOD. I'M GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME.

WHOO.

WELL, WHAT DID YOU THINK, GUYS? YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY?

YOU HAVE A GOOD TIME?

OH, YEAH.

Ed: CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DO THIS ALL THE TIME, MAN.

ANTHONY, YOU DON'T HAVE A CAMPFIRE POEM?

FEW MINUTES AND ONE MIGHT COME TO MIND, SO WATCH OUT.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, ED.

I'M DEFINITELY SEEING THE YIN AND YANG IN ANDY AND HEATHER.

SEEING THIS DIFFERENT SIDE TO THEM IS INVALUABLE.

WHO COULD RESIST AN EVENING BY THE FIRE?

Heather: ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS IS TO HAVE THE CAMPFIRE,

TO SIT AROUND WITH EVERYBODY, TELL STORIES, LAUGH,

ENJOY THE WARMTH AND THE PEACEFULNESS OUT HERE.

Anthony: NORMALLY, I FIND MY INSPIRATION IN WATER.

I MUST SAY, THE OPPOSITE IS HAPPENING HERE.

I'M GETTING AN INTERESTING IDEA.

HERE'S TO YOU GUYS.

THANK YOU FOR THE MOST AMAZING DAY.

All: CHEERS.

Anthony: ALL THE ROCKS WE'VE ORDERED HAVE ARRIVED.

THE STREAM IS DUG OUT AND LINED.

NOW WE CAN START BUILDING OUR WATERFALLS.

FIRST THING'S FIRST, THOUGH --

WE'VE GOT SELECT BEST ROCKS FROM ALL THE BEAUTIES ON THE PALLETS.

THIS IS AN AWESOME ROCK, TOO.

IT'S A TRICKY PROCESS, SELECTING ROCKS FOR A WATERFALL,

BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER SEVERAL THINGS --

HOW WILL THE ROCKS FIT? WHERE WILL THE WATER FLOW?

HOW WILL THEY ALL FIT TOGETHER? AND OF COURSE

THERE'S THE MEASUREMENTS FOR THE STREAM TO CONSIDER.

IT'S A CONSTANT BALANCE BETWEEN FUNCTION AND BEAUTY.

WE DID HAVE THIS ONE, WHICH IS FASCINATING.

OH, YEAH. THAT'S A COOL ONE.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL ROCK.

YEAH, YOU KNOW WHAT? THIS ONE WOULD FIT RIGHT IN.

THAT'S WHERE THE WATER WOULD COME OVER.

SO 20.

20, 20.

YEAH, OKAY. LET'S MAKE IT WORK.

CHOOSING THE ROCKS IS ONE THING,

BUT MAKING SURE IT WORKS IN THE STREAM AND LOOKS GOOD

IS ANOTHER THING ENTIRELY.

WE'LL PUT THE BIG END ON HERE.

JUST HOLD IT THERE FOR A MINUTE.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

WELL, I THINK HAVING IT AT AN ANGLE IS GONNA BE GOOD,

'CAUSE IT'S GONNA HELP OUR WATERFALL.

THIS IS REALLY PRETTY.

AND IT'S ABOUT THE WIDTH OF THE SPILLWAY THAT WE ACTUALLY NEED.

RIGHT. NO, IT'S A NATURAL FOR IT.

IT'S SO SATISFYING WHEN YOU GET SUCH A CRUCIAL PIECE IN PLACE.

BUT NO REST FOR THE WEARY.

WE STILL HAVE TWO MORE WATERFALLS TO BUILD.

THIS IS WONDERFUL.

THE SHOTCRETE IS DRY, AND ALL THE ROCKS ARE SET IN THE STREAM.

I CAN NOW TURN MY ATTENTION

TO PUTTING THE ROCKS AROUND THE HOT TUB MOUNTAIN.

HOW ARE WE FOR ELEVATION?

ON ONE SIDE OF THIS FORMATION,

THE ROCKS WILL BE PART OF THE WATERFALL.

WE NEED TO GET EVERYTHING TO THE RIGHT HEIGHT

AND LINE UP THE ROCKS CORRECTLY

SO THE WATER APPEARS TO COME OUT OF THE HOT TUB

AND POUR OVER OUR WATERFALL.

THIS IS AWESOME.

[ THUNDER RUMBLES ]

Dave: OKAY, HERE'S WHAT I'M GONNA DO.

IT'S GONNA RAIN MORE AND MORE TODAY AND TOMORROW.

I'M GONNA GO GET AT LEAST ONE MORE CANOPY

SO WE CAN JUST WORK. WE CAN FINISH THIS.

WE'VE BEEN BATTLING RAIN THIS ENTIRE PROJECT,

AND NOW ANOTHER STORM IS ROLLING IN.

THIS IS GOOD.

THIS IS MY LITTLE AREA.

Dave: THESE ROCKS MUST BE SET, AND THE POOL MUST BE DRY,

'CAUSE I HAVE A CREW BOOKED TO APPLY PLASTER IN 24 HOURS.

IT'S ALREADY A MUDDY MESS.

IF THIS KEEPS UP, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PUSH OFF PLASTER.

THAT MEANS THE POOL TAKES LONGER AND COSTS MORE MONEY.

[ THUNDER CRASHES ]

'CAUSE WE --

DID I JUST HEAR THUNDER?

THAT IS NOT GOOD.

Dave: WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE CREATING A NEAT AND ORDERLY POOL FOR ANDY,

BUT WITH THIS LAST RAIN, THIS PLACE IS A WRECK.

PLASTER CREW IS SET TO ARRIVE IN A FEW HOURS,

AND THIS PLACE IS STILL WET AND MESSY.

WELL, WE JUST DID THE FULL ROCK WORK LAST NIGHT,

AND IT WAS STILL A LITTLE BIT DAMP.

AND SO NOW WE HAVE ALL THESE PIECES

AND SOME MOISTURE THAT'S COMING OUT.

SO WE'RE GOING AROUND, AND WE'RE CLEANING UP

ALL THE SCRAPS FROM LAST NIGHT'S WORK,

'CAUSE THE SHELL HAS TO BE VERY CLEAN AND DRY,

BECAUSE IT'S THE PEBBLE TEC COATING THAT IS ACTUALLY

THE WATERPROOFING FOR THE ENTIRE POOL.

TO SAY IT'S HECTIC MORNING WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

Ed: SO, DAVE THINKS HE'S GOT PROBLEMS?

I'VE GOT PROBLEMS OF MY OWN.

[ Chuckling ] NOW I AM STUCK.

SON OF A BITCH.

RAIN HAS MADE THIS PLACE A MUDDY DISASTER ZONE.

MAKES IT REAL DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE.

[ GRUNTING ]

[ SIGHS ]

FIRST, MY MACHINE GETS STUCK IN THE MUD.

NOW I'M STUCK IN THE MUD.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUNNY CALIFORNIA.

ED, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS. HOLD ON!

COME ON IN!

OH, NO!

IT'S ONLY ONE LEG.

YOU'VE LOST YOUR BOOT. NOW I'M LOSING MINE.

[ LAUGHTER ]

OH, NO!

AAH!

THIS IS WHEN WE NEED THE MACHINE!

NOW WE NEED A MACHINE TO RESCUE ED'S BOOT.

ED!

UGH.

NOT ONLY DID WE MANAGE TO RESCUE ED'S BOOT,

BUT DAVE GOT THE POOL READY FOR PLASTER,

ONLY BY THE SKIN OF HIS TEETH.

THIS IS GREAT, ANDREW.

NOW THAT THE PLASTER'S GOING IN, IT'S TIME TO WORK ON

A LITTLE IDEA I THOUGHT OF AFTER OUR OUTING.

I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BRING THE SANDY DUNES TO THE POOL,

BUT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO BRING THE HEAT.

I'VE ASKED ANDREW FROM OUR CREW,

WHO'S QUITE A JACK OF ALL TRADES,

TO HELP US WITH THIS IDEA.

ANDY AND HEATHER, THEY LOVE MAKING BONFIRES, SO WE THOUGHT,

"GOSH, WHY DON'T WE HAVE FIRES ALL 'ROUND THE POOL FOR THEM?"

OKAY.

SO, IF YOU CAN CONVERT IT

FROM JUST A GORGEOUS 360-DEGREE ROCK INTO A FIRE ROCK...?

I'M CREATING A NATURAL-LOOKING FIRE FEATURE

BY RUNNING GAS LINES THROUGH A LARGE BOULDER.

THEN POOF!

WITH A LITTLE FLAME, YOU HAVE FIRE ROCKS!

SO, WE'RE GONNA NEED A GAS MANIFOLD

SO WE CAN EASILY LIGHT IT.

I THINK WE'VE FOUND A VERY INTERESTING WAY

TO MAKE THESE ROCKS HOLD FIRE.

WE'RE GONNA FEED GAS INTO THESE ROCKS WITH PIPES,

AND THERE'S GONNA BE A SHALLOW CAVITY IN THE TOP OF THE ROCKS

THAT WILL HOLD THE FLAME.

AND THEN WE'LL HAVE A VALVE OUT HERE,

SO WHEN YOU OPEN UP THE VALVE, THE GAS WILL COME UP THE PIPE

AND GO INTO THIS CHAMBER THAT WE'RE GONNA HAVE YOU CUT.

I THINK IT'S GONNA BE A HUGE SURPRISE FOR THEM,

'CAUSE THEY'RE TOTALLY NOT EXPECTING THIS AT ALL.

SO, SUDDENLY, ANDREW, ROCKS BURST INTO FLAME.

WELL, THAT'S PRETTY EXCITING. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

[ IMITATES EXPLOSION, LAUGHS ]

YEAH, RIGHT. WATCH THE EYEBROWS.

AND THE EYEBROWS ARE GONE.

YES. "WHOA!"

WELL, ACTUALLY, MINE COULD DO WITH A TRIM.

I WASN'T GONNA SAY ANYTHING.

WELL, GET THEM BOTH.

[ LAUGHTER ]

Anthony: I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD

TO SEEING THESE FIRE ROCKS IN ACTION,

BUT I'M GONNA STAND WELL CLEAR WHEN WE LIGHT IT.

I DON'T WANT TO SINGE ANYTHING OFF!

LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS, ANDREW.

FIRE IT UP.

Dave: LET'S BE CAREFUL. WE DON'T WANT THE ROCK TO CRUMBLE

AS WE'RE ETCHING THE CAVITY OUT.

SO WE'RE GONNA USE A HYDRO CHAINSAW.

IT'S ACTUALLY EASIER TO CONTROL FOR PRECISE CUTS.

IT'S OUR BEST BET FOR DOING THIS WITHOUT BREAKING THE ROCKS.

AFTER THE INITIAL CUTS ARE MADE, WE'LL SAW DOWN DEEPER

AND THEN KNOCK OUT THE ROCK, WHICH GIVES US OUR HOLE.

AND FINALLY, WE CHISEL THE EDGES AND FEATHER IT OUT.

ANTHONY, GOT SOME MORE PLANTS HERE FOR YOU, BUD.

OH!

Anthony: EVERYTHING IS LOOKING SO GOOD

DESPITE OUR WEATHER-RELATED SETBACKS.

I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT WE'VE MANAGED TO DO.

THESE ARE BEAUTIES.

RIGHT, THESE ARE.

WITH ONE EXCEPTION -- THE BACK BIOFILTER.

WE'VE BEEN USING THIS AREA BEHIND THE POOL

TO GET THE MACHINERY IN AND OUT,

BUT NOW THAT THE MAIN BASIN IS NEARLY COMPLETE,

WE CAN GET MOVING ON THE WORK HERE.

THE BACK BIO-POOL IS THE FINAL PART OF THE FILTRATION SYSTEM

HELPING TO KEEP THE POOL PURE AND CLEAN WITHOUT CHEMICALS.

BUT WE'RE ONLY AT SQUARE ONE WITH BUILDING IT.

WHILE THE REST OF THE GARDEN IS ALMOST READY,

WE'RE ONLY JUST STARTING TO DIG IT OUT.

THEN WE MUST PUT IN THE LINER, INSTALL THE PIPE WORK,

BUILD THE BOARDWALK, FILL IT WITH GRAVEL,

PLANT IT UP, AND FILL IT WITH WATER.

IT'S GOING TO BE A VERY BUSY FEW DAYS.

WOW, GUYS.

THIS IS EXCELLENT, GUYS.

JUST WHEN I THINK A POOL'S GOT EVERYTHING,

I FIND SOMETHING ELSE.

[ GONG CRASHING ]

HOLY MACKEREL!

THIS IS GOING TO BE A MAD DASH TO THE FINISH.

WE HAVEN'T EVEN FILLED OUR POOL YET.

EVERY AREA NEEDS WORK, ESPECIALLY THE BACK BIOFILTER.

WE'VE LAID OUR LINER, FILLED IT WITH GRAVEL.

NEXT, WE HAVE TO WORK

ON THE ZIG-ZAG BOARDWALK THAT RUNS ACROSS IT.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE PITCH IN, SO I'VE GIVEN ED THE TASK

OF HELPING CASEY, OUR CARPENTER, TO BUILD IT.

ALL RIGHT, LET'S LAY OUT OUR NEXT.

WHERE'S THE ZIG END UP?

LIKE THAT?

SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

I THINK WE'RE ZAGGING PRETTY GOOD THERE.

INITIALLY, I THOUGHT

ANTHONY WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE MY LIFE DIFFICULT

BY DESIGNING A ZIG-ZAGGING BOARDWALK.

I'LL COME IN TO YOU.

BUT HE VERY QUICKLY EXPLAINED THAT THERE'S A BELIEF

THAT EVIL SPIRITS CAN ONLY NAVIGATE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.

SO IT'S GOOD LUCK WHEN THINGS ZIG-ZAG.

Anthony: HELLO, ED.

HELLO, ANTOINE.

LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE EXCELLED YOURSELF.

YOU ACTUALLY GOT THAT ROCK IN ON YOUR OWN,

AND IT'S NOT UPSIDE DOWN OR BACK TO FRONT.

[ CHUCKLES ] IT IS BEAUTIFUL.

TAKE IT FOR TEST RUN.

WOW, GUYS.

Anthony: THIS IS EXCELLENT.

I'M RATHER IMPRESSED WITH ED'S CARPENTRY WORK.

THIS REDWOOD BOARDWALK LOOKS BEAUTIFUL,

AND IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER WITH TIME.

IT DOESN'T ROT, AND AS IT AGES,

IT'S GOING TO TAKE ON A GRAY PATINA --

A PERFECT CONTRAST AGAINST THE AQUATIC FLOWERS WE'LL BE ADDING.

I JUST FEAR THAT YOU ZIGGED WHEN YOU OUGHT TO HAVE ZAGGED.

BUT, ACTUALLY, I THINK IT WORKS OUT.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

NOW THAT CASEY'S FINISHED WORK ON THE BOARDWALK,

I NEED HIS HELP TO BUILD SOMETHING ELSE.

AS THE BACK BIOFILTER'S COMING TOGETHER,

I STILL THINK IT NEEDS SOMETHING ELSE TO ATTRACT THE EYE TO IT.

AND I HAVE JUST THE IDEA.

[ GONG CRASHES ]

WHAT WE WANT TO DO IS TO CREATE A GONG FOR ANDY AND HEATHER.

ACTUALLY, A BEAUTIFUL FOCAL POINT.

AND I WAS THINKING IF WE DID THIS BEHIND THE BIOFILTER,

IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL.

GOOOONG!

[ LAUGHS ]

A GONG IS MEANT TO BRING GOOD LUCK, HEALTH, AND HAPPINESS.

THIS IS PRETTY COOL. IT'S LIKE A BIG PIZZA PLATE.

OOH, IT SOUNDS GOOD, TOO. GO FOR IT.

[ GONG CRASHES ]

[ Chuckling ] NICE.

WHOA!

WHAT AN AMAZING THING.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SOUND.

DON'T DO IT AGAIN.

I MUST DO IT. I MUST BOMBILATE IT.

HOLD TIGHT.

OKAY, HERE WE GO.

[ GONG CRASHING ]

NICE WORK!

HOLY MACKEREL!

I CAN FEEL IT.

I BET.

WHOA!

THAT WAS DRAMATIC!

I CAN'T RESIST PLAYING WITH NEW TOYS.

I'M NOT SURE IF DAVE APPRECIATES IT, THOUGH.

[ GONG CRASHES ]

THE FIRE ROCKS ARE READY,

AND THEY LOOK BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED.

ALL WE NEED TO DO IS FIND THE PROPER HOME 'ROUND THE POOL.

I THINK THAT'S GOING TO BE IN BETTER HARMONY WITH THE POOL.

TRY IT, PLEASE, LIKE THAT, ALL RIGHT?

JACKPOT.

PERFECT.

THIS IS GOING TO BE SO BEAUTIFUL HERE.

ED, THIS IS THE PERFECT ROCK TO HAVE FIRE COMING OUT OF.

LOOKS GOOD.

THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AMAZING FEATURE RIGHT BY THE WATER.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO LIGHT THIS RIGHT NOW,

BUT I GUESS I SHOULD FINISH THE POOL FIRST.

WHOO-HOO!

WHOO-HOO.

[ LAUGHTER ]

CHECKLIST IS GETTING SHORTER.

ALL THE DESIGN ELEMENTS ARE DONE.

NOW IS THE TIME TO FINALLY FILL OUR POOL.

AS FOR LANDSCAPING,

WE'RE FINISHING THE GROUNDS WITH GRAVEL AND SAND,

CREATING A TRUE ZEN RAKING GARDEN,

AND THEN FINALLY ADDING THE PLANTS.

BRING ON THE GONG, GUYS.

OKAY, SIR.

IT'S THE GONG SHOW.

THIS IS WONDERFUL.

THIS IS THE PIèCE DE RéSISTANCE,

THE ICING ON THE CAKE OF THIS POOL,

BECAUSE, GUYS, THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

IT'S THE FOCAL POINT.

HEAVY, TOO.

IT'LL ACTUALLY CATCH THE LIGHT.

YEAH, THIS IS SOLID BRONZE.

YOU DON'T MIND HOLDING IT A BIT LONGER, DO YOU,

WHILE EXPOUND ON ITS BEAUTY?

AS LONG AS WE DON'T BLURT OUT A POEM, WE'LL BE GOOD.

LOOK AT ITS FACETS, HOW THEY CATCH THE LIGHT.

WELL, WHY DON'T WE HANG IT, SO YOU CAN LOOK AT IT?

AND IT'S NOT GETTING ANY LIGHTER IN THE LIGHT.

WE'RE GONNA HANG IT. YOU GO ACROSS THE POOL AND SEE.

THIS, GUYS, IS THE BRONZE EQUIVALENT TO A MOON GATE.

I LOVE ANTHONY.

SOMETIMES, I WONDER WHY HE MAKES THE SIMPLEST TASK

INTO A MAJOR SPECTACLE.

THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S GOOD.

ALL RIGHT, NOW, DON'T TOUCH IT AGAIN.

ARE WE DONE?

YES.

COME AWAY. COME AWAY.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

[ GONG CRASHES ]

THERE.

[ LAUGHS ]

HEY, GUYS, I GOT SOME SAKE HERE.

I THOUGHT WE SHOULD CELEBRATE OUR ENDEAVOR HERE.

I SAY! HOW EXCITING!

I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS.

JAPANESE GARDEN? SAKE.

WELL, THANK YOU, DAVE.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA.

I USUALLY FIND A FESTIVE WAY TO CELEBRATE THE FINISH OF A POOL,

BUT THIS TIME, DAVE SURPRISED US ALL WITH SAKE.

THIS COULDN'T BE MORE BEFITTING.

WELL, HERE, LET ME POUR A LITTLE BIT.

THE SMALLER THE THING, THE STRONGER THE BEVERAGE.

MMM. TASTES GREAT. MMM.

JUST LIKE MOM USED TO MAKE.

ED, HAVE YOU EVER HAD SAKE BEFORE?

I'VE NEVER HAD SAKE BEFORE. BUT I WILL BE HAVING IT AGAIN.

OH, YOU LIKE IT?

OH, YEAH.

IT'S VERY PURE, ISN'T IT? SORT OF CLEAN ON THE PALATE.

YES, IT IS.

MM-HMM.

ACTUALLY KIND OF TASTY, SO I'LL HAVE ANOTHER.

ANTHONY IS ALWAYS TRYING TO EXPAND MY HORIZONS.

YOU KNOW, GUYS, SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED IN SUCH A SHORT TIME,

ONE ACTUALLY FORGETS WHEN WE FIRST MET THE CLIENT.

DO YOU THINK WE'VE GIVEN THEM WHAT THEY WANTED?

I THINK WE'VE EXCEEDED IT.

KIND OF REMARKABLE NOW

IS THAT OUT OF ALL THE TIME WE WERE HERE, IT'S 2/3 OF THE TIME,

WE WERE GETTING RAINED ON THE WHOLE TIME.

WE WERE FIGHTING THE MUD THE WHOLE TIME.

[ GRUNTS ]

[ SIGHS ]

I HAD NO DOUBT IN MY MIND WE WOULDN'T ACHIEVE THIS.

ED MAY NOT HAVE HAD ANY DOUBTS,

BUT THIS MOST CERTAINLY WAS A CHALLENGING JOB FOR EVERYONE.

BUT I'M SO PROUD OF WHAT WE CREATED.

MAYBE TONIGHT, WE'LL GO HAVE SUSHI. BROADEN MY HORIZONS.

OKAY.

TO ED'S HORIZONS.

WOW.

MAY THE SUN NEVER GO DOWN ON THEM.

MM.

I REALLY HOPE YOU LIKE THIS.

OH, MY GOSH.

WOW. WOW.

IT LOOKS AMAZING.

Anthony: AFTER THREE LONG WEEKS AND MANY CHALLENGES OVERCOME,

WE'VE FINALLY COMPLETED ANDY AND HEATHER'S POOL.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW IT TO THEM.

I REALLY HOPE YOU LIKE THIS.

OH, MY GOSH.

WOW.

IT LOOKS AMAZING.

WOW.

INCREDIBLE. GREAT JOB.

A BIT DIFFERENT.

I LOVE IT.

WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED, I SAW THIS YARD,

AND IT WAS JUST PATCHY GRASS

AND A FENCE RIGHT IN YOUR FACE WITH A HEDGE.

YOU DID A FABULOUS JOB, YOU AND YOUR TEAM.

THANK YOU.

I LOVE IT.

IT'S A BULL'S-EYE. YOU DID A GREAT JOB.

WE'VE MAXIMIZED ON THE ENTIRE SPACE,

AND NOW YOU HAVE THIS OPENNESS.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

Andy: WHEN THE GUYS SHOWED UP, WE HAD A VERY AVERAGE BACKYARD.

Heather: IT WAS BORING. IT WAS COOKIE-CUTTER,

AND THERE WAS NO REASON TO GO OUT THERE

OTHER THAN TO TRY TO CLEAN IT UP AND MAINTAIN IT.

AND NOW IT'S THE PERFECT VACATION SPOT OUT THERE.

SO, WE BUILT A ROCK OUTCROP,

SO YOU AND MAYBE HEATHER, IF SHE'S UP FOR IT,

CAN JUMP STRAIGHT DOWN INTO 8 FEET OF WATER.

GREAT, LET'S GO.

[ LAUGHS ]

UP HERE, WE HAVE THE FIRST SHELF THAT YOU CAN SIT ON

AND THIS LOVELY LITTLE WATERFALL THAT JUST CATCHES THE LIGHT.

STREAM WITH WATER PLANTS.

Heather: SO MUCH TO LOOK AT.

YOU KNOW, YOU'VE HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD,

BECAUSE THAT IS REALLY THE ESSENCE

OF THE JAPANESE STROLLING GARDEN.

IT SHOULD TAKE YOU 'ROUND ON A TOUR BY A SERIES OF INVITATIONS.

IT'S AMAZING.

THE MORE YOU EXPLORE, THE MORE YOU WALK AROUND THE POOL,

YOU FIND THESE LITTLE THINGS THAT ARE SO INTERESTING.

THE VIEW CHANGES FROM EVERY DIFFERENT ANGLE,

AND IT'S JUST AS GREAT FROM EVERY SIDE.

COMING DOWN TO THE BIOFILTER,

AND LET'S JUST PAUSE HERE ON THE ZIG-ZAG BRIDGE.

OKAY.

THIS IS, OF COURSE, ZIG-ZAG INTENTIONALLY

TO KEEP THE DEMONS OFF.

OOH.

'CAUSE THEY CAN ONLY GO IN STRAIGHT LINES.

OH.

OH.

ALSO, IT'S PRETTIER.

[ LAUGHTER ]

IT LOOKS GOOD, TOO.

RIGHT, IT LOOKS GOOD.

WHILE WE'RE HERE, I'VE GOT ONE MORE LITTLE THING TO SHOW YOU.

THIS IS YOUR GONG.

WOW. VERY COOL. I LIKE IT.

I LIKE IT. I THINK I NEED ONE.

YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT ONE.

[ LAUGHTER ]

NOW, WHEN YOU NEED TO, YOU CAN WAKE ANDY WITH THIS.

READY? [ LAUGHS ]

READY.

[ GONG CRASHING ]

[ LAUGHS ]

WHOO! THAT'S AMAZING.

HOW MANY DECIBELS IS THAT?

VERY COOL.

I THINK IT WOULD WAKE THE DEAD, NEVER MIND ANDY.

[ LAUGHTER ]

Heather: WHO HAS A GONG IN THEIR BACKYARD?

IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN.

WE DO.

YEP, WE DO.

[ LAUGHS ]

WE'RE GOING TO PART THROUGH THE BAMBOOS.

THIS IS YOUR MOUNTAIN SPA.

OH, WOW.

IT'S HEATED AND CLEANED USING A CONVENTIONAL CHLORINE SYSTEM,

AND EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS

AS THOUGH THE SPA WATER'S POURING INTO THE POOL,

THE TWO NEVER ACTUALLY MEET.

HERE, YOU HAVE COMPLETE SECLUSION AND PRIVACY.

YOU HAVE THE PANORAMA OF THE WHOLE GARDEN.

A GREAT SPOT, ISN'T IT, UP HERE?

IT IS. I THINK IT MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE.

NOW, YOU SAID YOU WANTED A FIRE PIT.

YES.

LOOK HERE.

WOW.

GAS FIRE, AND THEN YOU JUST THROW ON THE LOGS,

KEEP GOING ALL NIGHT.

PERFECT.

LOVE IT. I LOVE IT.

WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE SPA, IT'S ALWAYS COLD,

SO IT WILL BE NICE TO RUN DOWN HERE AND GET A LITTLE WARM.

WELL, IF YOU LIKE THIS, I'VE GOT ANOTHER SURPRISE FOR YOU.

OH, MY GOSH.

UH-OH.

HANG ON.

[ LAUGHS ]

WHAT IS HE DOING?

WHERE IS HE GOING?

I'M SO EXCITED TO SHOW ANDY AND HEATHER

THE SURPRISE I'VE COOKED UP FOR THEM.

OH, WOW.

WOW!

FIRE ROCKS!

I LOVE IT.

LOOK AT THAT.

NOW, WAIT THERE.

WATCH THIS.

YOU'RE KIDDING. ANOTHER ONE?

[ Laughing ] OHH.

WOW.

WOW.

VERY COOL.

THESE WERE HOLLOWED OUT AND DRILLED,

AND WE PUT IN GAS PIPES.

THAT'S AWESOME. I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE.

Andy: FIRE ROCK -- THEY DON'T ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE AN UNLIT FIRE FEATURE.

THEY LOOK LIKE A LARGE NATURAL STONE,

WHICH IS BEAUTIFUL BY ITSELF.

A TWIST OF A HANDLE, A LITTLE FLICK OF THE LIGHTER, AND BAM.

I MEAN, THEY'RE LIT UP THAT EASY.

IT JUST ADDS A WHOLE NOTHER DIMENSION TO THE BACKYARD.

YOU GUYS DID A GREAT JOB.

THE DIFFERENT DESTINATIONS THAT YOU GUYS HAVE DESIGNED --

THE NATURAL STONE EVERYWHERE,

THE HUGE FIRE PIT, ALL THE LANDSCAPING --

YOU GUYS HAVE DONE AN AWESOME JOB.

THANK YOU, ANDY.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

MUSIC TO MY EARS.

THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

THE PERFECT VACATION SPOT.

I'M SUPER EXCITED TO SHOW OUR FRIENDS.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR EVERYBODY TO SEE IT.

WHOO!

HOLY MACKEREL!

INTO THE HOT TUB!

WELL DONE!

WHOO!

LIKE IT?

NOW, DOES IT GET YOUR APPROVAL?

YES?

YES.

I'M SO GLAD.

IF YOUR MUM LIKES IT, ANDY, IT'S GOT TO BE ALL RIGHT.

YES. YES.

I'M SO PLEASED WITH HOW THIS POOL TURNED OUT.

THERE ARE SO MANY FUN SURPRISES HERE,

AND I JUST KNOW THAT ANDY AND HEATHER

WILL ENJOY THIS BACKYARD PARADISE FOR YEARS TO COME.

ED, YOU'RE PROCRASTINATING. JUST JUMP IN!

NO, DON'T JUMP IT. PUT THEM BACK ON. STOP.

THIS, I DON'T BELIEVE. PINCH ME, SOMEBODY.

EITHER JUMP IN QUICK OR PUT YOUR SHIRT BACK ON.

BRAVE ED!

[ ALL CHEERING ]

OH, LORDY.

OH!

HEY, SAVE THE HAT!

NEVER MIND THE HAT. SAVE ED.

THIS IS GOING TO BE A PERFECT VACATION SPOT.
