Congratulations, you have succeeded with
the download and installation process!
Now, I’m going to show you how to create an account
and register for SRV Canada VRS
and get your own VRS telephone number.
This must be done only once.
Do not go to this process if you have already
created an account on another device.
You must use the same account
and VRS telephone number on all your devices.
To open the SRV Canada VRS app
on devices other than Mac computers, you can find
the VRS app icon on the screen to click and open.
If you are using a Mac computer, this works differently.
Go to the bottom of the SRV Canada VRS website,
you will see “Use the web app on Mac computers with Safari”,
click to access the VRS app website.
You can begin the registration process,
which is the same process for all devices.
On a mobile device, the user interface language
(English or French) depends on your device’s language setting.
On a PC or Mac, select your preferred language
(English or French) for the app from the "Choose your language" menu
at the bottom of the screen.
You will see the screen with the login and the password at the top.
Underneath, there is a “Create your Account” button.
Click it to view the Registration form.
Fill in your personal information.
Type in your name, email address, and home address.
Please note that your current physical home address
is required for emergency 9-1-1 purposes.
The Video Interpreter, once connected,
can immediately notify 9-1-1 with the right information.
No post boxes please.
Please enter all the required information
requested on the Create your account screens.
Required information is marked with an asterisk (*).
Remember, please input a cellphone number
to receive your activation code via SMS.
The purpose of the code is to allow you to create your account.
If you do not have your own phone, you can use a friend’s.
If you cannot find a cell phone to use,
please contact Customer Service for help.
Once all the information is entered,
click the “Create your account” button.
You will then be redirected to a web page,
where you will enter the activation code.
Once you receive your code via SMS on the cell phone,
go to the webpage and enter the code in the
activation code field on the registration screen
and click on “Submit”.
In a few minutes, you see a message on the screen
saying your account has been successfully created.
Next, you will receive an email from notifications@srvcanadavrs.ca
confirming the creation of your account.
Next, You will receive a second email usually within
a few days with your 10-digit telephone number and your Login ID.
Depending on when your account was created and the availability
of phone numbers in your area, it could take a bit longer.
Congratulations! Now you can start using SRV Canada VRS.
You are now ready to start making calls! Enjoy!
