In Spanish, to express moods

we use the verb ESTAR + adjective

Yo estoy

Tú estás

Él /Ella/ Usted está

Nosotros o Nosotras estamos

Vosotros y Vosotras estáis

Ellos /Ellas /Ustedes están

Well,

when we want to find out someones mood

we can ask... ¿Cómo estás?

o ¿Qué tal?

¿Cómo estás? / ¿Qué tal?

How are you?

¿Cómo estás?/¿Qué tal?

And that is like a general question

When we want to find out specifically what the problem is

because we know that something is going on

we could say... ¿Qué te pasa?

Whats going on with you?

¿Qué te pasa?

¿Cuál es el problema? ¿Qué te pasa?

¡Perfecto!
