The Prophet's Ligt

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) is

Light!

For some, he (p.b.u.h.) is human

Why? "I am only a man like you" [Quran 18:110]

OK.

"like you" ... OK.

lives and dies ... all human attributes

For some, he (p.b.u.h.) is a Messenger

"to whom has been revealed" [Quran 18:110]

OK.

However, for some, he (p.b.u.h.) is light

and they have the strongest evidence

why is their argument the strongest?

proofs in the Quran abound

"There has come to you from Allah a Light and a clear Book" [Quran 5:15]

"And one who invites to Allah , by His permission, and an 'illuminating lamp' " [Quran 33:46]

i.e. a sun

plus the sound ahadeeth that state that

that the Messenger of God (p.b.u.h.) had no shadow

(obviously) no "thing" has no shadow except light (itself)

and that light has to be stronger than any other light that could (possibly) create a shadow

the companion said "The Messenger of God (p.b.u.h.) never stood under the sun or a lamp,

except that His Light (p.b.u.h.) prevailed over all surrounding lights

for if other lights were stronger, a shadow for him (p.b.u.h.) would appear

but it was related that the Messenger of God (p.b.u.h.) had no shadow

hence, the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) is what?

Light.

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad, who opened what was closed, who sealed what had gone before;

the helper of Truth by the Truth, the guide to Your straight path, and on his family,

may this prayer be equal to his immense position and grandeur.
