for the critically acclaimed and fan adored

A Star is Born, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Gaga and Cooper's remake just scored several top awards

including Gaga for best actress

and Cooper for best director

by the National Board of Review.

We're far from the shallow now

The awards were announced Tuesday, November 27th.

And A Star is Born actor Sam Elliot

also took home the award for Best Supporting Actor.

The National Board of Review is a 109 year old organization

of film enthusiasts, academics, and professionals

and it's awards can oftentimes be seen as a precursor

to what's to come in award season.

One thing is for sure, A Star is Born

has no shortage of Oscar buzz.

The awards will be handed out on January 8th

in New York at a gala hosted by Willie Geist.
