Hi! I'm Willy.
One of the most common questions I'm asked is, 'What camera should I buy?'
I'm not going to tell you exactly what to buy but I'm going to share with you some opinions on
the different type of cameras.
Well, there are generally three different types.
The compact cameras,
the hybrid cameras which
is defined by the ability to change the lens but it doesn't have a mirror mechanism
like
the DSLRs.
There's a mirror inside here which causes its bulk as well.
So obviously with a hybrid camera, the cameras can be made a lot smaller while
retaining the same image quality as a DSLR.
The DSLR, however, is a little bit more advance, it has got higher
ISO capabilities which means that you're able to take things in much lower
lighting conditions
than the others.
Compact cameras have improved quite a lot already. There are a couple of compact cameras
which
can do very very well in low light as well.
Don't look for megapixels. Megapixels will peak off after a certain
number of megapixels, there is only so many megapixels you need.
But the key thing that is going to differentiate in the next couple of years is the ISO
performance which means you can just take better photos in low light.
So go ahead to a camera shop, test the different cameras. If you're deciding between a
Nikon or Canon, most of the difference is in the functions,
the way the buttons are placed and the ergonomics.
Canon is generally known to have a little bit better lens whereas Nikon
may be known to have a better body.
Then again, that depends on your personal perferences as well.
Well, the advantage of the hybrid camera is obviously it's compact size.
You're even able to attach a mini tripod onto it,
this tripod is done by Manfrotto and it's able to
give you a tilt on rather than just having to sit flat
on the surface,
and you can easily compact it and fit into the camera bag without taking any
more space.
