hello hello hello everybody my name is Steve Ford welcome to your English

lesson today I have a wonderful lesson talking about the different ways that

you can say goodbye are you ready let's go so I'm really excited about our

lesson today talking about different ways to say goodbye and I wanted to tell

you that this lesson is being sponsored by me yes I'm paying for this lesson

today so we're going to be talking about different ways to say goodbye are you

ready let's go bye bye catch you BAE this talk to you soon bye bye see you

later take it easy take care have a good one

good bye have a good day until we meet again bye bye peace out have a nice day

my mom my god it goes bye-bye I'm out of here

I hope to see you soon bye bye so long farewell

I gotta it's the road so we're going to be talking about different ways to say

goodbye and I'm going to be putting them into boxes into formal normal and

informal so let's first of all go to the formal

so long farewell adieu you would never use these ones because they're way too

formal you will only hear them in movies and maybe you will find them in old

literature like Shakespeare when you could use is take care also if you're

meeting someone for the first time you could say nice meeting you

or nice to meet you or if you want to be a little bit more formal you could say

it was a pleasure meeting you or it was a pleasure to meet you those

ones we still use now if you're at the bank I hear I'll have a good day have a

nice day have a good day sir have a nice day sir so you will hear

these more formal goodbyes but they're used by people that are in a bank it

could be at a nice restaurant then you might hear those kinds of goodbyes

so now we're going to be talking about normal ways of saying goodbye the ones

that we use in everyday conversation and the one that I wanted to talk about

first is talk to you soon now that's in the complete form but we want to say

that more quickly like a native speaker would so the two becomes tough so we

would say talk to talk to talk to you soon

many times when we're speaking quickly that you will become a young so it

becomes talk to you soon why don't you try it with me talk to you

soon now you one more time talk to you soon

okay great job another one similar to that with the yeah and the tub is I hope

to see you soon so when we say it faster we say I hope to I hope to I hope to see

you soon that sounds like music to me I hope to see you soon I hope to see you

soon a simple one that you can use when you're leaving is I'm off and I'm off

doesn't mean that you're incorrect it doesn't mean that you are turning

yourself off it means that you are simply leaving one that I have used for

many years in my videos and I really invite you to use it to on a daily basis

is bye for now it's used a lot and very quick bye for

now bye for now

now we come to the informal goodbyes and with these you want to try to say them

as quickly as possible so for example we have catch you later

catch you later now that's really fast we can break that down catch yeah the

you becomes yeah and later becomes later later

we have that flap T once again catch you later

catch you later why don't you try I'll say it slowly catch you later

now you one more time catch you later

good job the next one and you always want to be thinking about saying these

fast this is informal so we would say take it easy and when we say it fast

it becomes take it easy take it easy so they link together take it easy now for

the next one this is used a lot and it's very friendly and try to remember what I

was talking about in the formal goodbyes that when you're at a bank

you're at a restaurant a nice restaurant they will say have a nice day have a

great day have a good day that last one have a good day there's a more informal

version of that and when you say have a good one have a good one

have a good one that's very friendly I can hear that all the time here more

informal peace out or just peace and one of my favorites I have got to go and

when we say that quickly we don't say have at all we don't say I

have I don't say I've I just say I gotta go I gotta go another one if you're

leaving and you want to say you want to leave quickly you could say I'm out of

here I'm out of here once again when we say that quickly

we'll link everything together and say I'm out of here

now we of course can say bye-bye and you'll notice that the

by is more like a buh buh buh bye is there one's for example when you have

to leave by car you could say I gotta hit the road could also say see you

around and you'll notice it's not see you around when we say it quickly around

becomes round see you around see you around last but not least I have

some funny goodbyes that you can use if you want to have some fun with goodbye

sometimes for example you can say see you later alligator the answer to that

would be in a wild crocodile gotta go Buffalo

adios hippos okay everybody I hope that you enjoyed this lesson all these

different ways of saying goodbye and how we can have them as formal normal and

informal you can always subscribe to my channel if you haven't you can watch

more videos from my channel and I hope to see you in our next English lesson

bye everybody
