HIM IN A RITE AID.

A CORNELL STUDENT IS BEING

TESTED FOR THE 2019 NOVEL

CORONAVIRUS, ACCORDING TO THE

CORNELL CHRONICLE'.

ACCORDING TO THE TOMPKINS COUNTY

HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THE

INDIVIDUAL IS BEING MONITORED

AND ISOLATED WHILE SAMPLES ARE

BEING SENT TO THE CENTER FOR

DISEASE CONTROL.

THEY HAVE REPORTED THAT THE RISK

IS LOW' FOR RESIDENTS AND

VISITORS TO TOMPKINS COUNTY.

CORNELL UNIVERSITY HAS ALREADY

TAKEN STEPS TO BAN TRAVEL TO

CHINA AMIDST THE CORONAVIRUS

OUTBREAK.

THIS IS THE FOURTH CASE

SUSPECTED IN THE TWIN TIERS

AREA- EARLIER THIS MONTH, TWO

PATIENTS WERE SUSPECTED IN THE

BROOME COUNTY AREA, ANOTHER IN

CORNING, AND THIS PATIENT IS

STILL AWAITING TEST RESULTS IN

THE ITHACA AREA.

THERE HAVE BEEN NO CONFIRMED

CASES OF CORNAVIRUS IN NEW YORK

YET.

one thing to draw a distinction

is this Cornavirus isn't Ebola,

so it's not that type of

disease--right now there's a lot

going on about Coronavirus and

it's changing very quickly,

we've been in contact with state

DOH all thorugh the week, so

there's a lot of new information

that's coming in right now but

we don't have any cases in

Chemung county right now, no

cases in New York.

I think it's something to look

into with concern, but I

definitely don't think any

Chemung county reisdents should

stay up at night worried about

Coronavirus"

ACCORDING TO A CORNELL

UNIVERSITY STATEMENT "THE

STUDENT DID NOT RESIDE ON CAMPUS

AND IS IN ISOLATION, SAFE AND

RECEIVING ONGOING CARE."
