Hello, I am Wictoria Papsheva and welcome to my creative room
Imagine there is not a single pocket on your clothes, as in a traditional Japanese kimono suit
so in Japan there were boxes inro
They were hung from a belt and used to store small items.
Brush for writing ink, personal printing, medication and money.
Such boxes were made of bamboo, ivory, wood.
They were decorated with paintings, encrusted with stones, nacre and varnished.
Today we will make an inro box made of polymer clay.
for work,
I chose a polymer clay with a metallic effect
I roll out a layer 2 millimeters thick
I take a texture sheet and wipe it with a damp cloth so that it does not stick to the clay during work.
I put a stamp on the clay
and roll it with a rope. Rented texture sheet
a beautiful drawing appeared on clay
from this layer of clay cut a strip width of 3 and a half centimeters
then I will need
a metal tube
instead of the tube, you can use a small bubble or glass cones
the main thing that these items were made of materials that will not melt during heat treatment
it can be glass, metal or wood
wrapped a strip of clay around the tube.
this must be done very carefully so as not to damage the drawing.
using a silicone brush smoothing down the joint. I make it invisible and send the item to be baked right on the straw.
when baking, strictly follow the instructions on the packaging of polymer clay from which to sculpt.
after baking, wait for the clay to cool and remove the part from the tube. May have to make an effort.
Well, finally I managed). As a result,
I got a polymer tube. I cut a strip 1 cm wide from a layer of polymer clay
with a thickness of 2 millimeters.
also wrapping it around the straw.
I smooth the joint with a silicone brush and then send it to bake.
When the clay has cooled, I remove the part from the straw.
This item will become a cover.
From the polymer clay layer 2 millimeters thick,
using a cringle, I cut two circles
In the center of each circle I make holes with the help of a small cringle.
On the inside of the polymer tube
I apply a FIMO-gel and insert a circle with a hole.
This will be the bottom of the box. I perform the same actions with a lid
and send the details of the box for repeated baking.
From a 1 mm thick layer of polymer clay,
I cut a strip 7 millimeters wide.
I put fimo gel on the inner surface of the box
and place a strip of polymer clay inside the box so that part of the strip (about 3 millimeters)
extends beyond its walls. Well I press the strip against the walls
and smooth down the joint.
Thanks to this detail, the cap will close tightly.
Sending a box for re-baking. Clay baked and cooled, you can see how it works.
Everything fits perfectly. The box can be closed and opened.
To remove all the bumps,
the details of the box need to be polished.
I will do it with the help of automotive sandpaper of different grit.
I start the largest.
Before sanding
wet sheet sandpaper. I grind only the cap and bottom of the box.
Plots with a pattern should not be polished. Then I take a smaller
and smaller sandpaper. After grinding all parts must be rinsed with water.
Now I need four round molds of different diameters and a layer of polymer clay with a thickness of 1 millimeter.
The diameter of the largest mold should be slightly less than the diameter of the lid and bottom of the box.
From a polymer clay formation I cut out 2 circles of each diameter.
These circles, I will decorate the lid
and bottom of the box. I put the FIMO-gel on the bottom of the box and glue the circles starting with the biggest one.
In the middle of the circle make a hole.
Then take a smaller circle and so on.
In the center of each circle I make a hole.
Here's what I got.
I do the same with the lid and when everything is ready I send the parts to be baked.
After baking, I wait for the clay to fade away and proceed to tinting.
I paint over parts of the box with the texture.
The paint should fill the grooves.
I wait when the paint dries and erase the excess with a damp cloth.
The paint should remain only in the grooves.
Now proceed to the tinting of decorative elements on the bottom and the lid of the box.
Finger pick up a small amount of paint.
I leave its surplus on a piece of paper
and apply a paint on the protruding elements of the decor with a semi-dry finger.
I wait for the paint to dry and cover the box with glossy varnish.
I apply the first layer, wait for the varnish to dry
and apply a second layer of varnish.
Lacquer box just outside.
I wait when the varnish is completely dry and proceed to the assembly.
Waxed cord fold in half and insert it into the hole on the bottom of the box.
Then I string a wooden bead
and tie a knot.
Now I insert the waxed cord into the hole on the inside of the lid
and thread a wooden bead on the cord.
I cut the waxed cord in the middle and tie knots at the ends.
I insert the end of the cord with a bundle into the metal end.
Inside the trailer dripping super glue to fix the cord in it.
I do the same with the second end of the cord.
I put a ring on one of the limit switches, and hang a carbine on the ring.
I put a ring on 2 limit switch.
Clasp is ready!
The tips of the cord are cauterized with a match.
The result here was such an interesting opening a box with a lid and can be worn as jewelry.
You can even put something inside.
For example, a piece of cloth soaked in aromatic oil or perfume.
By the same principle, you can make a box with a different decor, you just have to show imagination.
In general,
experiment and create!
