Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) or Hemoglobin A1c or Glycated hemoglobin, is the average blood glucose (sugar) levels over the past three to four months (90-120 days). HbA1c test is used to measure the amount of blood sugar (glucose) attached to hemoglobin. The test is typically limited to a three-month average because the lifespan of a red blood cell is about three to four months (90-120 days).
