The Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) is one of the central banks’ committees at the BIS. It assists central banks in recognising, analysing and responding to threats to the stability of financial markets and the global financial system. The committee focuses on the proper functioning of the markets, structural changes in financial business and incentive structures in the financial system. It also coordinates the ongoing development of the BIS’ international banking and financial market statistics.
The Bundesbank is represented on the CGFS as well as in many of its working groups.
