The full form of SCERT is State Council of Educational Research and Training. It’s used on Governmental ,Departments & Agencies in India

The SCERT, Delhi an autonomous body, established in May, 1988 has been providing academic resource support to the Directorate of Education and the Education Departments of MCD and NDMC and Cantonment Board so as to achieve overall improvement in the quality of school education . The SCERT support is available through various programmes which include continuing education of teachers, development of appropriate material for teachers and students and undertaking research studies on the problems related to school education in Delhi. The SCERT also oversees and provides necessary guidance towards effective functioning of nine DIETs of Delhi, which among other activities also conducts two years pre-service Diploma Course in Elementary Teacher Education..

During more than two decades, the SCERT has made significant contribution in the area of school education in general and teacher education, in particular. It has been performing a pioneering role in the area of pre-service and in-service training of teachers and other stake holders. It has been providing academic support to Department of Education, GNCT Delhi in formulation of policies and planning procedures. Its other functions are development of curricular material of various types viz. Text Books, Supplementary material, Teachers’ Hand Books, Manuals and Modules etc. The Material has also been developed for Audio and Visual Media. In addition to this, a number of research projects have been undertaken and completed by the SCERT and DIETs faculty.
