The Full Form of GRD is Genealogical Research Directory.
The Genealogical Research Directory was first published in 1981 for the specific purpose of documenting the family name being researched in Australia and New Zealand. Alongside this, the Directory also provided a means of overcoming duplication of research.
This Genealogical Research Directory Set contain each directory from 1981 to 1993. Each directory includes 35,000 to 100,000 entries of family names which are all listed in alphabetical order from contributors in 30 countries.
The Directories also include a range of advertisements, notices and a list of the contributors to the Directory. Later years also contain editorial notes, helpful hints when contacting people or associations in different countries, calendars and genealogical events, tips on how to use the Directories, features of the Directories, lists of research repositories, maps of different regions and pieces of information written in French and German.
This is a rare genealogy resource, perfect for anyone searching their family history or building a family tree.
