Kasturba Gandhi Girls School Scheme is the scheme started by Rajasthan Government. It is actually not the scheme but the school with the facilities of hostel and many more perks with it. The scheme helps girls from SC/ST/OBC/Handicapped and girls from open category who are from Below Poverty Line (BPL). The scheme was started in the year 2005-2006 after which many students got the privilege of getting an education. Under the scheme each category has given fixed number of seats and efforts are being made to educate as many girls as possible from SC & ST categories. Even though they have many reservations still the community is not fully developed, there are many who are still struggling to get some status in the society. And education is the only solution for this problem, by becoming educated the child can make his/her life very well and can earn that dignity which he/she is missing now. There are many more benefits in the scheme which can definitely provide a better life to the children which they didn’t have and the scheme provides free education to the girls at higher school i.e. 6^th, 7^th and 8^th std. At present there are 200 Kasturba Gandhi Girls School are functioning and out of that 186 are fully dedicated to the SC & ST categories and remaining 14 are for Handicapped and BPL from general category girls of urban areas.
