Real Time Gross Settlement, abbreviated as RTGS systems are specialist funds transfer systems where the transfer of money or securities takes place from one bank to any other bank on a “real-time” and on a “gross” basis. Settlement in “real time” means a payment transaction is not subjected to any waiting period, with transactions being settled as soon as they are processed. “Gross settlement” means the transaction is settled on a one-to-one basis, without bundling or netting with any other transaction. “Settlement” means that once processed, payments are final and irrevocable.

The term real-time gross settlement (RTGS) refers to a funds transfer system that allows for the instantaneous transfer of money and/or securities. RGTS is the continuous process of settling payments on an individual order basis without netting debits with credits across the books of a central bank. Once completed, real-time gross settlement payments are final and irrevocable. In most countries, the systems are managed and run by their central banks.

The Royal Thai General System of Transcription is the official system for rendering Thai words in the Latin alphabet. It was published by the Royal Institute of Thailand. It is used in road signs and government publications and is the closest method to a standard of transcription for Thai, but its use, even by the government, is inconsistent. The system is almost identical to the one that is defined by ISO 11940-2.
