1, The full form of VDI is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. It’s used on Computing ,General Computing in Worldwide
Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) is defined as the hosting of desktop environments on a central server. It is a form of desktop virtualization, as the specific desktop images run within virtual machines (VMs) and are delivered to end clients over a network. Those endpoints may be PCs or other devices, like tablets or thin client terminals.
In VDI, a hypervisor segments servers into virtual machines that in turn host virtual desktops, which users access remotely from their devices. Users can access these virtual desktops from any device or location, and all processing is done on the host server. Users connect to their desktop instances through a connection broker, which is a software-based gateway that acts as an intermediary between the user and the server.
VDI can be either persistent or nonpersistent. Each type offers different benefits:
2, The full form of VDI is Variable Direct Injection. It’s used on Technology ,Automotive in Worldwide
Variable Direct Injection (VDI) is a technology that has been tired in a variety of internal combustion engines mostly in diesel engines where the amount of fuel injected directly into the cylinder can be varied depending on the demands for the engine.
3, The full form of VDI is Verein Deutscher Ingenieure. It’s used on Associations & Organizations ,Professional Associations in Germany
Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) (English: Association of German Engineers) is an organization with over 150,000 engineers and natural scientists. More than 12,000 honorary experts process the latest findings every year to promote the technology location. Established in 1856, the VDI is today the largest engineering association in Western Europe. The role of the VDI in Germany is comparable to that of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in the United States or Engineers Australia (EA) in Australia barring the broader field of work of the VDI. The VDI is not a union. The association promotes the advancement of technology and represents the interests of engineers and of engineering businesses in Germany
The Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) 2230 guideline of the The Association of German Engineers can be a useful tool for designing bolted joints in many cases, but its use is limited due to the inherent assumptions of the analytical calculation models, such as the simplified cone shape deformation model for elastic compliance of clamped plates, the empirical parameters to account for the additional bolt compliances from the head and nut, the analysis technique to reduce multibolted joints to a single-bolted joint, the model to estimate the load plane factor, and the nominal stress approach for fatigue analysis. The finite element (FE) analysis is the alternative way to design and analyze the bolted structure.
This chapter introduces the basics of the VDI 2230 guideline for ISO metric bolted joints to prevent potential failure modes such as embedding, clamp load loss, clamped plates crushing and slipping, bolt yielding, thread stripping, and bolt fatigue failure. The assumptions and the calculation procedure to estimate the elastic compliances of the bolt and clamped plates are also described.
The last portion of this chapter also presents the commonly used FE bolt modeling techniques for forces and stress analysis, and recommends the appropriate fatigue damage assessment method for two different threaded bolts (such as rolled before and after heat treatment).
