TGC is a technical entry by which any engineer with a good aggregate get a chance to attend SSB through this entry.
Student in final year as well as who have completed their degree can apply for it.

As an engineer if you go in army through this entry you will go for some technical work as per your branch.
One year ante date seniority from date of commission will be applicable only for Officers having Engineering Degree (BE/B.Tech) from a recognized institution/university.
Here you can opt for PC as well as SSC depending on your choice.For PC, training at IMA and for SSC training at OTA.
Here in this entry the training duration is also less around one year as compare to other entry.
Candidates commissioned as officers via TGC entry initially join Engineers, corps of signals, or the EME corps. In war, Combat Engineers provide mobility to own forces by constructing bridges, tracks and helipads; on the other hand the Corps denies the same to the enemy by creating obstacles such as laying mine-fields and demolition of bridges. The Military Engineering Service, which is an important part of the Corps has played a crucial role in Nation Building. It provides MES cover not only to the three Services, namely, Army, Navy and Air Force but also Defence Research & Development Organisation and Ordinance Factories.
