The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act passed by the Parliament in December, 1985. APEDA helps the development of industries relating to the scheduled products for export by way of providing financial assistance or otherwise for undertaking surveys and feasibility studies, participation in enquiry capital through joint ventures and other reliefs and subsidy schemes.

The Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) was created out of the Rural Works Department (RWD) in the year 1996. It is now a State Government Agency of the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, India and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. APEDA is the State Nodal Agency for all the Programs and Schemes connected with Renewable and Non-Conventional Energy Sources, all such programs and schemes sponsored by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India is either executed or routed through it.
