What does CNC mean? What is the full form of CNC?

1, The full form of CNC is Computer Numerical Control. It’s used on Technology ,Robotics & Automation in Worldwide

Computer numerical control (CNC) is a method for automating control of machine tools through the use of software embedded in a microcomputer attached to the tool. It is commonly used in manufacturing for machining metal and plastic parts.

With CNC, each object to be manufactured gets a custom computer program, usually written in an international standard language called G-code, stored in and executed by the machine control unit (MCU), a microcomputer attached to the machine. The program contains the instructions and parameters the machine tool will follow, such as the feed rate of materials and the positioning and speed of the tool’s components. Mills, lathes, routers, grinders and lasers are common machine tools whose operations can be automated with CNC. It can also be used to control non-machine tools, such as welding, electronic assembly and filament-winding machines.

The term CNC stands for ‘computer numerical control’, and the CNC machining definition is that it is a subtractive manufacturing process which typically employs computerized controls and machine tools to remove layers of material from a stock piece—known as the blank or workpiece—and produces a custom-designed part. This process is suitable for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, glass, foam, and composites, and finds application in a variety of industries, such as large CNC machining and CNC machining aerospace parts. When speaking in terms of the machine itself, the CNC machine definition is that it represents the actual programmable machine that is capable of autonomously performing the operations of CNC machining. Note there is a difference between the process and the machine.

Subtractive manufacturing processes, such as CNC machining, are often presented in contrast to additive manufacturing processes, such as 3D printing, or formative manufacturing processes, such as liquid injection molding. While subtractive processes remove layers of material from the workpiece to produce custom shapes and designs, additive processes assemble layers of material to produce the desired form and formative processes deform and displace stock material into the desired shape. The automated nature of CNC machining enables the production of high precision and high accuracy, simple parts and cost-effectiveness when fulfilling one-off and medium-volume production runs. However, while CNC machining demonstrates certain advantages over other manufacturing processes, the degree of complexity and intricacy attainable for part design and the cost-effectiveness of producing complex parts is limited.

While each type of manufacturing process has its advantages and disadvantages, this article focuses on the CNC machining process, outlining the basics of the process, and the various components and tooling of the CNC machine (sometimes incorrectly known as a C and C machine). Additionally, this article explores various mechanical CNC machining operations and presents alternatives to the CNC machining process.

2, The full form of CNC is College of New Caledonia. It’s used on Academic & Science ,Universities & Institutions in Canada

The College of New Caledonia has served the needs of students in B.C.’s Central Interior since 1969—and with the inclusion of the B.C. Vocational School, since 1962. The College region is approximately 117,500 sq. km. (or 12% of the province), with a population today exceeding 148,000. The region encompasses three school districts: #28 Quesnel, #57 Prince George, and #91 Nechako Lakes. The College offers a full range of Career, Technical, Vocational, and University Credit programming. Average annual enrollment is approximately 5,000 students.

In January 1969, the College was established on an “operating funds only” basis, with financial assistance from participating school districts and using leased facilities at the Prince George Senior Secondary School. Over the summer, faculty were hired to teach courses in the first programs to be offered at CNC.

  • First Year University Arts and Science
  • Administrative Science
  • Data Processing
  • Early Childhood Education

In September, registration was set up on the main floor of the Secondary School and 253 students registered from all participating regions. On October 10, 1969 the College held its official opening ceremony at Vanier Hall where guests received the first issue of the newly-launched student newspaper, S’quun! (“fire” in Carrier).

Coconut Island Airport (IATA: CNC, ICAO: YCCT), also known as Coconut Island Airport, is a small airport in Australia with domestic flights only.

At present, there are 4 domestic flights from Coconut Island.

4, The full form of CNC is Civil Nuclear Constabulary. It’s used on Governmental ,Police in United Kingdom

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is the armed police force in charge of protecting civil nuclear sites and nuclear materials in England, Scotland and Wales.

We employ over 1,500 police officers and members of staff at nuclear sites throughout the UK. We police each site in line with Nuclear Industry Security Regulations.

We are responsible for the armed protection of civil nuclear facilities and materials whether they are on site or in transit. Counter-terrorism is a major part of our policing.

To be recognised nationally and internationally as the leading organisation for armed protective security within the critical national infrastructure of the UK.
