The Full Form of IPSR is Institute for Population and Social Research.
Established in 1971, IPSR, affiliated with the Mahidol University, is a population, social research, and training institute with a status equivalent to that of a university faculty. IPSR’s activities are generally organized around four main program components: research, training, academic services, and the dissemination of research findings on population, reproductive health, and related fields. In order to address emerging issues for Thailand and other developing countries, IPSR aims to conduct research and provide training concerning population studies, including such related fields as social studies, economics, reproductive health, medicine, and public health. In addition, IPSR is running both Thai and international graduate programs in the fields of demography, population and social research, and population and reproductive health research. Through these activities, relevant information and research findings are disseminated nationally and internationally.
