Mercedes-Benz is an automobile brand headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The two companies Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG, later changed their name to Mercedes) and Benz & Cie merged to form Mercedes-Benz. The famous three-pointed star of Mercedes-Benz logo was designed by Gottlieb Daimler, founder of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) to show the domination and the ability of his motors for “land, water, and air” usage. The phrase “land, water, and air” was used because, in the 19th century, Wilhelm Maybach together with Gottlieb Daimler developed a light, high-speed internal combustion engine suitable for land, water, and air use.
