  因此，在这种情况下，我猜想写这个或说这个话的人是在想： “The sum of Rs 63 million was awarded to students”。

  同样，作者/说话的人可能受到这样一个事实的影响：在英语中我们总是谈论 X million，而不是X millions。

  有趣的是，当我读到“In 2003, Rs 63 million (US$1.1 million) were awarded to students”时，我几乎开始想象发放的实际硬币……或许只有我是这样想吧：）

  英式英语和北美英语如何处理这些情况也存在巨大差异。

  英国人最有可能说：the audience were really pumped up，而北美人说：the audience was really pumped up。
