A sober man keeps a guard on his tongue, holding back anything he wishes to
hide. Strong drink unseals his lips and he tells everything. Hence a man is
more likely to speak the truth when he is drunk than when he is sober.

The Latin tag, In vino veritas, is more often used than the English version.
