What is the meaning of [Make the best of a bad job]

Here ‘job’ does not refer to working, but to a state of affairs. To make the
best of a bad job is to accept one’s present position with the equanimity, to
put up with an unfavourable or uncomfortable state of affairs.

> We ran out of petrol when we were miles from anywhere, and as it was gone
midnight we had to make the best of a bad job and sleep in the car.’
