Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is a statutory body under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, regulating the public exhibition of films under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952.

Films can be publicly exhibited in India only after they have been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification.

The Board consists of non-official members and a Chairman (all of whom are appointed by Central Government) and functions with headquarters at Mumbai. It has nine Regional offices, one each at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Cuttack and Guwahati. The Regional Offices are assisted in the examination of films by Advisory Panels. The members of the panels are nominated by Central Government by drawing people from different walks of life for a period of 2 years.

The Certification process is in accordance with The Cinematograph Act, 1952, The Cinematograph (certification) Rules, 1983, and the guidelines issued by the Central government u/s 5 (B)

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is a Statutory body under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, regulating the public exhibition of films under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.

Vision :  To ensure the good and healthy entertainment in accordance with the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952 and the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules 1983.

Mission :

1. To ensure healthy entertainment, recreation and education to the public.
2. To make the certification process transparent and responsible.
3. To create awareness among advisory panel members, media and film makers about the guidelines for certification and current trend in films through workshops and meetings.
4. To adopt modern technology for certification process through computerization of certification process and upgradation of infrastructure.
5. To maintain transparency about Board’s activities through voluntary disclosures, implementation of e-governance, prompt replies to RTI queries and publication of annual report.
6. To develop CBFC as a Centre of Excellence

The Copper and Brass Fabricators Council is a non-profit membership trade association open to any person, firm, or corporation engaged in the fabrication or production in the United States of products made, in whole or in part, from copper or copper alloys.  Generally, the member companies are engaged in the production of copper and copper alloy sheet and strip, rod and bar, plumbing tubing, OEM or air-conditioning tubing, wire, extrusions, shapes and profiles, forgings, and fittings.  These products are used chiefly in the automotive, construction, and electrical/electronic industries.  There are currently nineteen member companies who produce over 80% of all copper and brass mill products produced in the United States.

The purposes for which the Council was formed and continues to operate are to engage in any and all activities designed, directly or indirectly, to promote the interests of American fabricators of copper and brass products in the following respects, among others:  (a) the export of copper and brass fabricated products from the United States; (b) the import of such products into the United States; and (c) other activities in connection with regulatory action, including legislation, rules, controls, stockpiling or other similar measures affecting fabricators of copper and brass products.

The Council operates on the basis of these purposes and is guided by its mission statement:

• To stem the flood of unlawful imports of brass mill products, which depress prices, displace domestic sales, and erode the domestic industry’s profits.
• To minimize the compliance costs of federal regulations, including those related to the environment, energy, industrial health and the like, by concerted industry-wide participation in the federal legislative and administrative “rule-making” processes.
• Generally to deal with brass mill industry problems that can be handled more effectively through the Council than by individual companies independently.
