What is the meaning of [Saying is one thing and doing another]

It is easier to talk about doing a thing than it is to do it. It is easier to
give advice than to put it into practice.

> ‘That tree’s too close to the house. If you want more light in the rooms,
why not cut it down?’

> ‘Saying is one thing and doing another. There’s only one way for it to fall
and I can’t get the ace to it from the other side because of the wall.’
